Hmm... have you heard Valensia's stuff? Their Queen tribute album is very creative, and their original stuff can basically be seen as "new Queen", if you will.

I hadn't heard Valensia until I read this post and went in search of. :)
But, um... the jury is still out for me on that one. I'll have to give it another go...[/QUOTE]Valens

I agree. :)
I agree. :)
I personally think you can't compare the original Queen to the tribute bands. First of all, Queen could write their own songs. Tribute bands are just duplicating the expression and emotion and notes that Queen originally did. Also, no tribute band can sound like the original anyway. There is always that little difference in the performance or sound that isn't quite Queen. No band can replicate their work. It is too original and fit for Queen and Queen only.

he kind of does sound like freddie, just a little
I'm impressed. He does sound like Freddie. But no one is as good as the original.
He doesn't sound bad at all. But I don't really want to hear a tribute band try to sound like Queen. I'm happy if they put there own style in there like GaGa and Jeff Scott Soto. Neither dress up or try to sound exactly like Queen. They just play the music and let the audience decide.
He sounds french...

French, Scottish, what's the difference :p
Apart from that, it's always nice to hear someone approaching the music in the same style Freddie did it. Valensia did a great job on the tribute, but the solo stuff is a bit too.....i don't know....sweet maybe?
