Give it a hug from me.
My nephews cat will likely get 'the needle' tomorrow, despite having thousands of dollars in vet bills thrown at it.
Love them while you have them folks!! :(

Oh, no. I hate to hear this. I'm so sorry for your nephew, his cat and you. It's so hard to let these precious little things go. I've had to do it three times in the past couple of years - the most recent being only a few months ago.
I'm very sorry. I'll hug both of mine right now.

The same happened to my cat about three years ago. I never got to say goodbye. ;_; Love him for the next twenty four hours, he'll smile at you from cat-heaven :')
My beloved cat Carly is going strong at 16 years but I realize our time is limited. Pets are just like people when it comes to relationships.. they either leave or die.

i got my last 3 cats when i was in my early teens and all 3 died within 2 weeks of each other 18 years later.ive refused to have a pet since, they're too much of an emotional burden.however my best friend is turning her place into a zoo at the moment.she bought a dwarf bunny today and i convinced her to name it bubbles :-]
and to the topic starter i will stroke my friends pussy in your honour when i see her next..

My beloved kitty is dying at the moment. Her name is Rory and I've had her 12 years. A couple months ago, she was looking thinner than usual, so I took her to the vet. Bloodtests showed her kidney levels were elevated. The vet gave me a special prescription diet to give her. She liked the food well enough, and seemed to be doing okay. But I had her back in two weeks ago for another blood check, and her kidneys are slowly failing. The vet said that if we could give her fluids intravenously, that it might buy her some time. So every other day, my husband and I hang up a bag of ringers solution, and give her an iv of fluids. I didn't even know how I feel about that, as I don't want the poor dear to suffer (though she is very good about it, and she doesn't look ill, and she is as cuddly and purrs as loudly as ever.). But now yesterday she didn't eat, and she hasn't eaten today. She goes to the vet tomorrow morning, and I think its not going to be good news...I will definitely hug her, and all my other critters too.

My 14 year old German shepherd, Emma, had to be put to sleep last year. I couldn't even bear to be with her when she was euthanized. Pieter and my sister stayed with her. I was afraid I'd have a break down in the vet's office. I've got her ashes in my bedroom. Man, I miss that dog. :-(
