I've actually been working on some issues like this in therapy. Though I don't have a problem with getting crushes really, I do tend to get clingy with one person at a time online and expect them to be equally clingy.
So I'm trying to branch out and spread my awesomeness among several people instead. It can be a pain though, as with a number of contacts, I find that they tend to show up at the same time and I get stressed trying to keep everyone happy. Flashing windows and rejected Skype calls.. it's really a pain being popular. But then they all disappear at the same time too and I end up still wanting to spend time with the original object of my clingitism.
But good luck and try to just relax and find activities away from whoever you're crushing on. Try to be more restrained and wait to see if they're wanting the same thing as you.
