Hmm, do you want to do the Berlin 79 and Rotterdam 79 videos? I'd be happy to be relieved of my duties..! I could send you the audio, video, and song listings of each video for you to begin with.
[QUOTENAME]Ducksoup wrote: [/QUOTENAME]According to Queenconcerts.com this is the material wich was filmed:
22 minutes, silent 8mm footage (master tape was found recently). Tie Your Mother Down, Somebody To Love, The Prophet's Song, White Man, Bohemian Rhapsody, Now I'm Here, In The Lap Of The Gods... revisited).
As I said above, it's only 12 minutes of footage, and 10 minutes are repeated in worse quality. The original audio was the albums and Seattle 77 LP dubbed on top of the footage (but not properly synched).
Btw, the whole thing is uploaded now. Everyone, post and tell me what you think of it!
Thanks everyone for your kind words so far - even though you hadn't even seen it yet! In theory, it could be total crap... ha ha!

Thanks once again for your time and patience that has gone into this stuff. The end result is great. This stuff really would look good on a Queen "DVD" as I've said before about the Berlin It's Late footage.
I don't know what it is, theres just something endearing about watching old video footage with not quite perfect sound!

Much thanks for your time and effort Bob!! Great share my friend.
Thank you very much. I like this video very much. Very interesting stuff!
What gen are the 8mm film Bob?Cant be from masters surely.
Anyway..opinion.
Nailed most of the sync pretty well i thourght as video quality is hideously bad.Understandable though.
Big obvious sync difference towards the end(looks like wrong verse Bob)
Shame about the high pitch squeal on the audio for some of the clips and i noticed a squelch or 2 on others.
But that said ,as i do this for a living,i know how long was probably spent on this. The frustration, the "fuck it,6 hours on 30 seconds and i've gotta do it again" happenings etc etc
so Bob for effort i would say 10/10
For what you did 9/10 because of that obvious sync difference towards the end
& for quality of finished video/audio..
well,we'll keep quiet on that one & hope the masters suface hehe ;)
But overal, well done Bob i enjoyed it!!
Deleted now.....nasty lossy thing on my PC hahahahaha ;)

I think this is the best possible result syncing a mute video with no clues where the recording was cut and without having the actual concert sound - not to mention problems like different tape speed. The video quality is not the point because the audio would fit to any better generation as long as it's the same video. Compared with the old sound this is a 1000% improvement. Well done, Bob.

No it wouldn't, because there is always speed drift involved when copying analog sources. If we get the video source one gen closer to the master there might be a slight adjustment necessary to the audio to get it synched up, if we get 3 or 4 gens closer to the original you'd probably have to do a complete re-synch.

You are right. But it will still be so much easier to sync the master with Bob's audio because he did all the identification of the songs/parts of the songs.
Thank you very much for sharing!!!
However,I think Mr. Scully, Pikko Luca and Bob have a copy of the master. Thanks Pikko Luca for the info on his website!! :-)

WOW! Just got the third piece and put it together and it's incredible! Awesome! Brilliant! And I didn't even have to buy the 2-disc special edition new DVD rerelease of a concert I already own to see this.
Thank you very much sir! And to think this is just your hobby. I would love to see what you could do with the full resources of QP at your disposal!
Thank you again, Sir Bob! (I guess I need to get my act together and hook my primitive equipment back up and see if I can help you out with any recordings.)
