    I do have the option to record to uncompressed LPCM on my DVD recorder (as opposed to Dolby Digital) though I am not sure if this will yield better results as I assume the audio will be broadcast in a compressed forma...

    I have Sky Arts and a DVD recorder so I can record it in SD if that is any good? If you specifically require HD then unfortunately I cannot help as I don't have a HD subscription or a Blu-ray recorder.
