  1. The Best Live Versions of Somebody to Love

Oscar J wrote: That's what I usually say too, but this particular song is all about Freddie IMO. Besides - the band sound pretty great too. I agree. This song is Freddie's favorite Queen song, and since it's so vocall...

  2. The Best Live Versions of Somebody to Love

Nitroboy wrote: Also, instead of the Japan '85 versions, I'd suggest checking out the first Rio version. Yeah, I don't know why I forgot that one. IF YOU LIKED Tokyo 5/8/1985, then listen to Rio 1/12/1985. (Studio hig...

  3. The Best Live Versions of Somebody to Love

If you have an interest in any of the cliche versions listed above, I'm going to post versions you should also listen to. IF YOU LIKED Earls Court 6/7/1977, then listen to Copenhagen 5/12/1977. (Overall stronger versi...

  4. The Best Live Versions of Somebody to Love

ALSO, I'm going to write reviews on the cliche versions (the versions that get mentioned almost every time in a conversation about StL). Some of these were already in the list above, but I figured I'd just cover them...

Don't forget to give the versions listed above a listen.

  7. The Best Live Versions of Somebody to Love

I've decided to take my previously posted list (see directly above) and rework it with specific dates and in chronological order to make these easier to find and so people don't have to root through the deep, dark, fo...

  8. Somebody to love on Magic Tour

I think that the Works Tour was such a disaster in terms of Freddie's voice that they just decided not to try it on the Magic Tour lest something similar happen with his voice. StL is such a vocally demanding song tha...

  9. What do you guys think is the best Queen concert ever?

I'm going to put my neck out for Tokyo 4/23/1979 here. Although Freddie's voice isn't in the best shape, the other band members were absolutely perfect. Freddie's vocal improvs are also great, and his vocal shape is m...

  10. What do you guys think is the best Queen concert ever?

Wembley '86 was extensively studio-corrected. If you listen to bootlegs you can see that Freddie's voice actually isn't that great a shape at all.

  11. What do you guys think is the best Queen concert ever?

    Thanks mate.

  13. What do you guys think is the best Queen concert ever?

(Calling it now - Greg's going to say 12/3/1979 Newcastle.)

  14. Best Works Tour Concert?

Thank you all for your input. I've used your guys' suggestions and several hours sifting through Greg's channel to bring you my personal top 5 list. 1. Sun City 10/19/1984 (Album phrasing, good mix of power and soul i...

  15. The Best Live Versions of Somebody to Love

Don't forget to consider: Houston 1977 (very in-sync vocal harmonies) Edinburgh 1982 (powerful and emotional, on par with Milton Keynes) Sun City 1984 (although tired, Freddie nails some very nice alternative notes an...

  16. Best Works Tour Concert?

Yes! Both Tokyo concerts also feature exceptional versions of Somebody to Love, however, Freddie nails more notes overall in the Sun City concert, hitting Bb4s during Bohemian Rhapsody and introducing album phrasing o...

  17. Best Works Tour Concert?

Thanks to Gregsynthbootlegs I have been able to choose these concerts as possible candidates: Sun City 10/19/1984 Tokyo 5/8/1985 Tokyo 5/9/1985 Let me know what you guys think!

  18. Musicality of Live Performances of Somebody to Love

While all this is great, this topic has already been discussed in another thread, and my question still hasn't been answered yet.

  19. Musicality of Live Performances of Somebody to Love

I've watched a lot of live versions of StL and I've come to like the live versions (specifically Rock in Rio night 1, both ones from Vienna 1982, and Milton Keynes 1982) more than the album version. I was wondering if...
