The Queen Live Archive List... FINALLY. sorry for the delay

Two questions:

1. Would it be possible to repost the list with whether the shows are audio or video, formats would be great though that may be time-consuming (keep in mind there is 2" videotape as well as audiotape which can be confusing right there);

2. I've heard for as long as I can remember that Queen audiotaped almost all their shows...have we just made the groundbreaking, horrifying discovery that this was an urban legend?!? (Unless they fall into the category of shows only recorded on cassette and that's why they're not listed...please clarify :) And IMHO just because something's recorded on cassette doesn't mean it's necessarily poor quality...a first-gen cassette, even 30 years old, from the mixing booth would still probably sound great! As long as it's baked ;)

Vienna 1982 (filmed for TV broadcast)
Osaka 1982(filmed for the band own ARCHIVE)
Brussels 1984 (filmed for Hammer to Fall)
Caracas 1981 (showed on TV, bootleg available
)
Tokyo 1975 (19th April, filmed for docu)
Tokyo 1975 (1st May, filmed for TV broadcast)
Hammy 1975 (filmed for TV)

Maybe I overlooked some, but what about these.

I would also prefer to see a proper list where it would be obvious what is video and what is audio only - and also the exact date (for example "Argentina 1981" - that's 5 shows!). I wanted to update my site with this fresh info but found out the list is useless because the info is not clear at all.

Thanks for list but more details in future - date, audio/video and very important for most uf us - complete or not. And whats up with the rest stuff mentioned above my words ? Any true info - not only "we don't have".
I suppose they for sure don't have Vienna '82, Munnich and others from '79 or even fab Tokio '75 in own archive - maybe on TV archive if they are still exist and not deleted. I hope like You will found somethink else in the vaults.

Some time ago Brian stated that not even this existed in the vaults (i´m suposing you´re not talking about the audience shot).

This is definetely worth the extras for some DVD or CD/DVD of the last Queen concert.

Many 79 concerts exists on TV archives in excellent quality (see "the jewels" DVD), so even if you don´t own it, at least you know it exists and it´s waiting for QP to grab it.

And about knebworth:the big screen footage would make an incredible extra on the Budapest DVD. Will make a stunning DVD in my opinion:biggest show behind the iron curtain with extra footage from their last ever show in front of 120 000 people(both fantastic shows too!!!). They have documentary footage from budapest too , so they could include that aswell.

there might not be tons of good stuff but there is enough to make several fantastic products over the years.

don't think that it is so easy to get rights of a tv footage. Channles and companies are VERY protective and careful about that, and sometimes also careless, so some of the master videos could have been lost/erased over the years

Nice to see a list of what is available...hopefully Paris 79 will be released next.

It's a pity there's no audio of Frankfurt 82, though.

I've been away for quite some time. Just a quick addition to this thread! There was a TV programme on Irish television recently which contained short (but very interesting!) clips of the 1986 Magic Tour show in Slane Castle. Some backstage and stage shots were included. No doubt there is further footage contained in the archives of RTE the national broadcaster - www.rte.ie.

The Madrid 1979 show was enterely filmed by the spanish television and an edited version (the version we all know) was shown in a TV program called "Popgrama".I don't know if the complete version remains in the spanish television archives but the edited is.

You know what I found strange. Since a few days we can download a Japanese documentary about Queen with shows in amazing quality and these shows are, I think, taken from the master and QP don't have them. Really weird don't you think?

I think that might be true - but that will be miracle if whole recording still exist, but who knows (the same feelings with others videos from that year like Munnich, Brussels, Rotterdam and even Paris gigs etc)
