I don't think race matters as long as they can make him look similar and he can act.
I mean, Freddie was born in Zanzibar and they moved to England when he was around 18 or something - and I've heard the surname "Bulsara" is Indian. I wouldn't get to picky about dragging someone out of Iran to play him.
If some Iranian guy can really act and gets the part - power to him, but race shouldn't be the deciding factor because it has very little to do with how well they'll be able to portray him.

Guys you wouldn't believe it. I just downloaded picture of actor Galen Gering, in paint I cahnged his hair and draw a moustache, It's like I'm looking Freddie!!!! Amazing. But he should lose those muscles, and he will be perfect.
