I'm pro-abortion, I think each woman should be given the right to abort a baby if they don't wanna carry it, or feel they won't be able to give the baby a good life, or whatever. But they should also be given the right to keep the baby.

Just to reiterate, when I say I'm anti-abortion, what I mean is, for me abortion feels wrong, and personally I wouldn't have one. What other people think is right for them is fine, and I wouldn't look down on anybody for having one. I just think it's wrong if anybody says "She should have had one." because that isn't our business, the media's business or even her family's business. If she thinks she can bring a baby into the world and give it the life it should have, then so be it.

Same here. I don't like abortion, either. I don't judge others for having them, but I couldn't live with myself if I did that. Still, I am all for women having the right to choose, even if it is something I wouldn't choose for myself.

i think itll be traumatic for her, not only being a teen mom, but the fact that the media WILL slaughter her parenting skills, regardless if shes the same as britney (hopefully not, she seems like she would be more responsible) or a great parent. its terrible. but as mari pointed out, it IS a real thing, and maybe she can say 'hey, it happened to me too' to teen moms, and say that its not easy, and it can be done.

i actually wish the best for her, and i pray she doesnt end up like her sister. she hasnt been in the tabloids constantly, she isnt out there doing stupid shit every weekend, she knows who the father is and is taking responsibility for her mistake. its just so sad and frightening to hear about teen pregnancies. im almost 20, and i cant imagine having a kid, especially ones that could be in kindergarten now. its a huge job, and its 24/7 for the rest of your life.

You are absolutely correct. There are some people who should definitely not have kids. As you stated, Britney Spears is a testament to that! I don't think that anyone is saying that this is an ideal situation. Teen pregnancy never is. Of course it was an accident, and as I said above, 16 is way to young too become a mother. But the fact is that it does happen, and it happened to her and now she has to deal with the consequences of her actions. Yes it will be difficult for her and difficult for the baby (Though with the money and means she has, it will not be nearly as difficult for her as the average teen mother.). But I have to say this. Teen pregnancy is a very serious thing, but abortion is a very serious thing too. And once it is done you cannot undo it. The ramifications, the feelings of guilt, can stay with you for the rest of your life. I am fortunate, I have never been in the position of having to make that decision, but I have known women who have, and for some it was one of the worst, if not the worst, experience of their lives, even if they felt they were doing the right thing at the time. One woman I know still talks about it with sadness over 20 years later. I definitely believe in a woman's right to choose. But like Freya and Erin stated above, the decision to have an abortion would never be right for me personally. Perhaps that is how Jamie Lynn feels, I don't know. But she may surprise all of us, and turn out to be a very responsible mother. I won't judge her by the actions of her sister, and I wish her no ill will.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say my opinion..I don't think that Britney Spears would even be in 99% of the situations she's in and been in if it weren't for 30-50 people hovering over her, following her, stalking her, and flashing cameras in her face every moment she's outside of her house. This in and of itself would be enough to make me go absolutely bonkers. People have said that Britney Spears is today's Michael Jackson, not talent-wise but the odd behaviors and irrationality. I really do blame the paparazzi and the people that support them and buy the magazines for a lot of this. I can not imagine every time I went outside hoards of people following me, standing within centimeters of me, my family, my children, or my friends with cameras. Yes I realize she is a celebrity and this goes along with it but certain celebrities are targeted more than others. When it rains it pours and the paparazzi are right there to goble it up, put it in magazines and people snatch them off the racks in record time! I honestly feel that Britney, not talking about Jamie-Lynn, would not be the nutcase she is without all the nutcase paparazzi around her.
For Jamie-Lynn...I think and hope she will be a good mother because she has seen first hand what has happened with her sister. I'm hoping she will learn from that and lay low, take care of her baby, and make good choices. I also hope this baby won't be raised by nannies but by Jamie-Lynn under close supervision of her mother and other close family members.
