Dear God that first dude is fucking up big time.

You might hate Celine's sappy love songs, you might hate her for being a diva, but you gotta admit she's got one hell of a voice, and this version of 'The Show Must Go On' is one of the best (if not the best) cover of this song I've ever heard.

i dont think its a good cover, its "good" that she hits the notes but what she is singing is empty and she doesnt sing like she means any of it with feeling as freddie did. Also lacks power and the voice is nowhere as good as freddies.

I don't like Celine Dion really, but whatever... it's nice to hear Queen music being played live.

she has the same range as freddie and has no problem hitting the notes, the problem is that she doesnt sing the song with emotion like freddie or has the same power, voice or feeling as freddie, then again no one does or will ever have that.
I thought it was a pretty good tribute, not the best cover, I've always liked her voice. I do agree though that she does not have the same power or emotion that Freddie did.
You are forgetting that Freddie sang it in a studio, in a controlled environment where he could do multiple takes to get the exact emotion he wanted. Yes, he was ill, but he had time to get it right. He never had the chance to sing it live, but I doubt he would have got as much emotion as the record if he had.

Now, I'm no fan of Celine Dion. Don't like her style of music at all, but I have to give her credit for this, and I thought she did it quite well considering her style.

Generally, I don't expect anyone to do Queen songs anywhere near as well as the four of them did, but I can appreciate the better attempts for what they are. Some people don't seem to be able to make the distinction and therefore seem to think that "no-one should ever attempt Queen songs". I don't agree with that, 'cause I like to see how other people interpret the music. Even if it is 5ive!!!

wtf are you talking about that freddie wouldnt have the same emotion live? have you seen queen live videos? in EVERY SINGLE song he sings with more passion than any other singer.

I hate stupid people who say stuff about things they dont get.

Oberon, meet the village idiot. Village idiot, meet Oberon.

It's best to ignore him. It's often worse than dealing with a religious fundamentalist.

Ignore me because i say true things? This guy/girl is obviously very ignorant otherwise he/she wouldnt say that freddie probably wouldnt sing the show must go on with the same passion live. I mean come on, how stupid is that?!

Freddie sang with the same emotion live as on the albums = FACT

you mean he is dead? that has absolutely nothing to do with what we are talking about. The things he has recorded and sang on will live forever.

It was awesome to see this tribute! Celine Dion does an amazing job. I've heard many cover versions of 'The show must go on' and all other versions pale in comparison.
I agree with her about Queen and Freddie of course:-) Great band and singer.
But freddie is not the only incredible singer to have ever lived. Freddie himself was a great admirer of other people with fantastic voices(and other talents, I'm sure) like Montserrat and Aretha Franklin. That's by the way another thing I admire about Freddie Mercury aswell. He could appreciate the talent of other people(so he was more humble than the general public thinks).
on my way up
Well seems like she does the Queen tributa each and ervery evening. This tribute from Sidney in april shows even more video footage....

I LIke it !
[QUOTENAME]Sir GH

ah yeah
wrote: [/QUOTENAME]I thought it was fantastic. Not many people can do The Show Must Go On justice, but Celine did. One of the best covers of a Queen song, I think. The band was spot on, too.

Agreed. Her voice didn't suit WWRY but TSMGO was quite something. I know this sounds a little stupid, but when she was giving her little "speech" in between the songs it did send a little shiver down my spine - something that very rarely happens.
I really thought her vocals were really strong on TSMGO.
