Just seen it this morning and I'm feeling pretty mixed about it. I watched the previous 3 films, building up to this one and the new one just doesn't come off as good.
It starts off brilliantly and continues well enough till about 45minutes through. There were plenty of bits I loved in the first half of the film, but there were loads of slow rubbish bits after that. I had read some reviews talking about overly long exposition scenes and I agree, they are long and a bit laborious, too. Also, I'd read it was better than the Last Crusade. I really like the last film and count it as the 2nd best Indy film. That has not changed.
I think the new film is pretty much bottom of the pile for me. Such a shame. I think I need to see it again to really form an opinion, though. But yeah, gut reaction.
Adam.
P.s. don't listen to that stupid spoiler up this page. Talkin rubbish!

For anyone hardcore Indy fan, it's well know that technically Indiana Jones can't be killed in this film. He appears as an old man in the 90s narrating his adventures on the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

I've never seen any of this Indiana Jones crap. Why are people so impressed with this shite anyway? Meh.
What we need is a sequel to Flashdance.

Jones dies within the first 5 minutes.
just read the reviews in the 'daily rags' here in the UK and i must admit im now tempted to take a fly swatter and watch it at the cinema while the tiddlywinks are off school.it does look very impressive...
Looks like my favourite archaeologist has been bitten by the prequel Star Wars bug.
But against my better judgement I'm going to see it tomorrow. If it sucks I'll amuse myself by wedging my way into other families that have set up camp in the theatre. Possibly steal some popcorn.

Ahh, you silly misanthrope. I suppose my posting "AIDS" in a couple of threads gives you carte fucking blanche to follow me around like a regular creep...
Go for it! God only knows you probably couldn't haul your arse around that quickly in real life, you might as well live up the opportunity here.

There are some kick ass moments in it, so enjoy them! Just be prepared for the bits that drag. But I must admit, with the buzz around this film, I wanna see it again!

Far-fetched but entertaining.

You've got a funny idea that America is the world, when really - and now more than ever - no one gives much of a shit about the place.

Anyway,
Just saw the film. Wasn't really all that bad. The major problem for me was a redundant character called "Mac". I don't think I'm spoiling anything by saying he was totally useless and inconsequential to the plot after around 20 minutes.
