Ah i just thought of one: re-making old classics, whether it be in movies or music. On too many occasions have we seen our beloved nostalgic memories brutally destroyed by the likes of George Lucas, or Fall Out Boy (referring to their cover of Michael Jackson's 'Beat It', to be fair, there is SO many example of different bands ruining old songs but i thought i'd use a recent example)or even the almighty Steven Spielberg.
Even the fashion industry has succumbed to retro due to the bland trend-less decade we live in. This decade will only be known for blandness or lack of originality, no trends truly exist these days (in the materialistic sense it's probably a good thing), instead modern day trends are just the re-emergence of old styles that have been ever so slightly modified.

Slavery is brought up upon educational purposes. It's mentioned in schools, museums, books, documentaries, etc. It's not a "trend".
