Then there's Russell Brand, who took a bit of a liking to me, and I went on a journey to his dressing room.
Wasn't that the guy who hosted the VMAs last night?

He totally bombed.
I know. You Americans just don't get him. He's the best comedian I've ever seen live, and I've seen a lot.
I thought he sounded funny, I loved his accent but ya, he was too hyper and I hated his jeans. I guess I'm just old, I can't do those skinny jeans, especially on men. It was weird. He is hilarious though but how funny can you possibly be when all you have to talk about is the Jonas Brothers? The whole VMAs were boring last night. The only performance I liked was Pink's. I love that girl.

Who in the hell was the rapper with his pants down under his butt? Why even wear pants???
Having re-read what I wrote I realise it sounded like a massive generalisation of "AMERICANS WON'T UNDERSTAND HIM" which I didn't mean. Just thought I should say that!

The thing is, he has his own way of doing his presenting/comedy which, in a country where people haven't heard of him comes across a bit like "What the hell is this man doing?" He tends to grow on people, I find.

I haven't watched the VMAs yet - I've just seen a couple of clips and cringed a bit.

I just have a huge soft spot for Russell, he's quite literally made me cry with laughter when ever I've seen him live, and I listen to his radio show every week which makes me laugh like hell too, so I always feel the need to stand up for him.

And if anyone's interested, here is a far better example of him - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1uhmnNnmL8

I guess we just don't get him.

He was making fun of the chastity rings of the Jonas Brothers, and later Jordin Sparks came on the defense of the Jonas by saying that some people choose not to be sluts.

Russell Brand's only good moment was when he made a sarcastic apology by saying that sex is a mad idea and nobody should have sex ever again.

What happened there....?
Yeah, seriously...?
We were waiting outside the hotel in the fucking snow for this idiot. The other members from the band came out one by one and they were all very nice and kind to us.

We were only 6 or 7 guys waiting for that asshole. We waited for hours and when he finally came out, he had this "disgust" expression in his face I will never forget, when he saw us.

He came out of the hotel, barely said 2 or 3 words to us, got inside a taxi and ran away.

We waited for him in the snow, we only wanted him to sign our shit, maybe a pic or two. We were very calm, it's not like we were stalking him or something. And he didn't have the consideration to do that or say THANKS FOR COMING TO MY SHOW. Because here in Argentina, that asshole is only known between shredders and stuff. Nobody fucking knows Mr Big or whatever. You can't get his records here because there aren't any. You earn your money thanks to the people that buys your shit and goes to your gigs, and that without mentioning that his fans are moooostly guitar players, specially shredders. Having such limited public, I don't think you wanna lose the support from those fans.

Later on, he returned to the hotel and 2 of my friends were still there. He signed their shit and took a pic with them and he was like OK OK, I WILL DO IT JUST TO MAKE YOU GO AWAY. They waited him for hours IN THE FUCKING SNOW. He didn't even say THANK YOU.

My dissapointment was because he always plays to be the funny guy on tv, interviews, clinics and shit. You expect him to be fun and nice because that's how he shows himself.

If Malmsteen had been an asshole to me, I wouldn't be surprised because everybody knows he is a cunt. But this guy was supposed to be funny and cool. He turned out to be an ungrateful asshole.

Eric Martin, from Mr. Big as well, was all the opposite. The nicest guy you could ever meet. He was funny and cool with us, thanked us for going to the gig. One of my friends gave him a necklace as a gift and Eric wore the necklace during the gig, which is something that wasn't necessary but he showed he really cares for his fans and treats people like people and not like scum, like his old pal Paul Gilbert does. Ritchie Kotzen was very nice too but he was a little shy tho.

Cheers,
Hor
THATS FUCKIN' EVIL. =/

Eric Martin wearing a fans necklace, wow, how caring is he!?! Thats awesome of him. I'd shit my pants to see a musician wearing something I bought him/her. Especially if I love them a lot. Say, Brian May... Oh my gawd. It kills just to imagine that....!!! Haha.

Ha. He's a strange one, I'll give him that, but also a clever clever man. He has an amazing way with words, and can charm the pants of almost any woman and very charismatic.

I was just reading some of the comments Americans have left about him. They're brilliant.

"How can some dude with retarded hair justify insulting anyone ?. much less people with morals!"

This one sort of has a point.

"I don?t need a British guy telling me how to vote. From the looks of him he has his own problems he needs to be working on!"

Ha!

"I too was looking to see Brit perform?that was the only reason I tuned in as well??..now I can?t help but watching that guy in stretch pants?"

That's what I'm talking about!

"I hope Russell Brand falls off the stage and dies!"

Nice.

"russel brent or whatever can not speakkk. I think he just talked about effin the jonas brothers?"

And this person clearly can't spell, let alone speak.

"why are these british douchebags all up in our country. why don?t they have their own award show on the crappy, rainy little island of theirs. what an ugly collection of knotheads that would be. A dental surgeon?s dream?"

I like this one.

"the british guy making fun of them he truly had some nerve u kno he?s prob the fecking virgin"

HAR. Big HAR.
Comedians should seriously stay away from giving political endorsements.
Part of being a comedian means to understand that we live in an imperfect world, with imperfect people who choose imperfect leaders, who will make imperfect decisions.

Fish out of Marrillion called me a fat bastard when I refused to serve him in an Ediburgh bar (circa 1990) He was a bit pished and needed taking down a peg or two.

I helped put an inebriated Paul Daniels (magic dwarf from the 80s) into a taxi.

Danny Baker (washing powder pest) threatened to kick my head in but backed down quickly enough when I suggested he give it a go.

I've also met Alice Cooper, Billy Connolly and the woman who played Nora Batty in 'Last of the Summer Wine' and they were all lovely.

fatty.

Let that be a lesson to you.... never wait in the snow to meet someone you don't know.
Met Mike Mills (R.E.M) after a concert, Paul Rodgers after a concert, Lenny Kravitz on the Barcelona airport (only saw him, we didn't talk) and Roger Taylor in the garden of a hotel after a concert. All nice people.

It was a meeting in the toilet. When I realised who is urinating next to me I got in a shock . I peed accidentally on his shoes and then has a serious "talk" with his body guards
hahaha! Great story!
i would be the type to meet someone famous i wouldnt want to meet XD

my aunt met micheal jackson back in his heyday. she missed her flight, and was stuck at hte airport, crying, with my uncle, cuz she couldnt get home. she saw this crowd and thoguht some riot was going on, and as my uncle got up to go get her a snack, she put her face in her hands again. someone tapped her on the shoulder and asked 'are you ok?' and she looked up and it was him. these screaming fans were going nuts that he graced her with his presence, and she didnt realize it was him until after she said 'yea ill be ok'. and he smiled and patted her on the shoulder and said 'good luck, i have to go!' and off he went with his massive crowd behind him.

i thought that was neat.
"why pay the visit when the visit is free?"
My parents told me that once, when I was really small, we were at an airport and they saw this blonde kid who worked in Barney. They said they didn't tell me because I'd make a scene or something of the sort. xD

@ Freya meeting the whole Boosh: I'm fucking jealous right now. DDDDDD:

And yeah, the VMA audience was shit. My sister and I were laughing away and we were just wondering why the crowd was so silent. ._.
-Things Have Changed For Me-
Steve Tyler is around my town all the time. Met him like 20 times. He's been around this summer especially, usually shopping for things.
