I aggree that John should be left alone to enjoy life outside the glare of queen if he so desires. I also aggree with someone earlier who said that there must have been a pretty big falling out. Brian and Roger are always pretty vague when asked about John and have said regularly that they havn't spoken in a couple of years. I think if I was in Johns shoes and had retired but the others were continuing with my blessing then I would probably call them or something to wish them well on there tour or maybe release some sort of statement in order to help them give the project a bit more legitamacy. Now I'm not saying john hasn't called them but if he had then I'm pretty sure Brian and Roger would mention it instead of saying they never speak to him. Also its a little odd that the guy who interviewed QPR at Rogers home over lunch mentioned the little figures of the band that Roger has on a shelf somewhere but for some reason there is no figure of John(Perhaps hes just mislaid it??). I was just being light hearted about the JD figure, sorry if you picked me up wrong. Listen, I don't want there to be a problem with John and the rest but I just feel that there is more to it than Bri and Roger let on. As for him being retired, I've said on many occasions on here that I fully accept that and we should leave him alone. All I was doing was expressing my opinion that perhaps the reason for his retirement was due to differances with Roger or Brian or both. I certainly don't think it has anything to do with Paul Rodgers as someone suggested as I'm pretty sure he'd stopped working with them befor Paul came on the scene. I just think it would be interesting to hear his reasoning behind his retirement, after all he's not exactly an old man is he? Perhaps a reason for his retirement has been announced and I've not heard it, is this the case? And I also find it odd that these guys who conquered the world together suddenly don't have any real contact with their friend for a couple of years at a time. Thats certainly not how I behave with people I have worked closely with over the years, apart from the ones I've fallen out with. But hey we're all different I suppose. Perhaps the reason behind it doesn't make you curious? Fair enough. But I just can't help wondering and then in turn speculating which I suppose is human nature. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see JD back but to be honest I'm not that bothered if he doesn't as we still have a working band in QPR with or without him. reguards to the stop touring after freddie knew he was ill... i remember seeing too seperate interviews one during the release of i want it all and one after the release of innuendo and brian said on both interviews he was itching to get back out on tour and do a couple of shows but also said on both interviews freddie had different ideas on what to do and he only wanted to concentrate on making new albums for the forseable future

Brian only said those things to protect Fred from the Press. Fred knew he was dying at that point and the band were putting on a front of 'life as normal'. There was no chance of another tour and Brian and the band knew it.

Why can`t you understand that the simple reason for John`s staying away is that he just doen`t want to join the band. He is happy in his life and doesn`t want to repeat the experience. If he had fallen out with the guys , Brian wouldn`t have called on him to join them up. John is happy, John is tired of publicity, maybe John is old, maybe like the other John (Lennon) but way back, he wants to devote himself to children and grandchildren. I am sure he wouldn`t be with them now, it`s too late to accept the invitation...

Hola, pues es una lástima que Deacon no quiera participar, una lástima para la música de Queen, pues solo es necesario escuchar Return of the Champions para comenzar a extrañarlo. Por otra parte se nota muchísimo su ausencia en The Cosmos Rock, asi que creo que es respetable su decisión y tiene toda la razón en no querer participar, el proyecto es malísimo, por mi parte no pienso comprar The Cosmos Rock.

I dont blame J.D. one bit. Queen is fred john brian roger..Think of it this way, say mick jagger had dropped dead 10 years ago and all of a sudden a few years later they wanted to tour etc, who would they get to sing??? I'm sorry but its the same way.. When people hear of queen they dont immediately have a visual picture in their minds of paul r, they think of Fred and the rest of the boys....Fred was the lead singer of Queen,and i feel its disrespectful to reform the band,/.. and to think they can get bad companys paul to sing lead.I am sorry but i grew up also listening to bc, and in no way does bc even come close to Queen at their high of their fame in the 70s.. anyway. why are they bothering?they have more money than god,.and with brian finally after all these years being able to finish his phd, he should have a go at that for the rest of his life..As said i dont blame J.D. for not wanting to have anything to do with them at all...
just maybe, john got sick of the music bis, and realised he now has a wonderful opportunity to enjoy his large, wonderful family after 25 years of album,tour,album,tour. i would love to see john rejoin queen, but i respect any decision he makes in relation to this. as for the current line up with rodgers not being queen, well i have commented on this in the passed, queen were always changing and moving staying one step ahead, staying fresh, their music changing through the years, and with rodgers i feel that this is exactly what they are doing. so if john and queen decide to reunite then wonderful, great, but if john wishes to remain enjoying his retirement then dont you think he has earned that right, and it is nobody's business except john and his family.
