Anyone could have written the songs of Deacon, May, and Taylor. Good songs, but nothing incredibly special.
Only one man could have written BoRap, Killer Queen, March of the Black Queen, Bicycle Race, You Take My Breath Away, Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon, etc.
The 3 "others", at their best, were good songwriters. Freddie, at his best, was unprecedented and incredibly unique.

I disagree... Although Freddie is THE best IMO, Brian comes very close... He wrote some masterpieces... White Queen, Save Me, It's Late, Who Wants To Live Forever, I Want It All...

This thread like so many on this site are moot points, that is they can be argued equally from either perspective, neither is either right or wrong.
For me Killer Queen is saccharin rubbish, Bicycle Race, give me a break, and I'm bored with BoRhap! I do agree with the inclusion of March of the Black Queen however. FM trolled out some absolute dross, as did BM, RT & JD. As for who is the best? Honours even in my book!

I can't choose between Brian and Freddie
Brian has great songs such as:
[listu] [li]Ressurection [li]Back To The Light [li]See What A Fool I've Been [li]Brighton Rock [li]Cyborg [li]China Belle [li]Too Much Love Will Kill You [/listu]
While Freddie wrote songs like
[listu] [li]March Of The Black Queen [li]Bohemian Rhapsody [li]Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke [li]Nevermore [li]Made In Heaven [li]Great King Rat [li]Love Of My Life [/listu]
It's impossible to choose

I think Brian or Freddie( not a new point of view). Each of tham wrote more that two others together. And the songs(lyrics) are really good.

It doesn't matter how many songs they wrote. Just because they wrote more doesn't mean the songs were better. Roger's and John's songs are just as good!!!

Freddie was great.
Brian was pretty good.
John was funky.
Roger could rock.
But the best Queen song writer is obviously David Bowie.

Theres NO question for this matter Freddie Mercury the Best..he wrote the best song of all time BO RHAP...and the least not to forget..That song written by Mercury was the song who brought them into Fame..and Paid all their debt!!! that came from Brian..[/img] [/img]
In the 70's - Freddie & Brian.
In the 80's - Roger & Brian.

Man on the prowl
Princes of the universe
Brian
She makes me
Gimme the price
Dancer
John
One year of love

Roger
More of that jazz
Don't loose your head
