Hi - yes, the very same Extreme! I saw them Monday night, and they were superb! Same line up with Pat Badger on bass, Nuno and Gary, but just a different drummer who is fantastic! Their passion, delivery and musicianship was better than ever now they have matured. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones from Led Zep were in the crowd too! If you haven't already, do get Extreme's 'comeback' album called Saudades De Rock - it is fantastic and probably their best alongside Pronograffitti; a great album in it's own right and not just a tame effort in order to milk some new live shows.
The Darkness split up, unfortunately, due to Justin's addiction problems (too much too quickly?), but he was back on form looking very healthy and playing and singing well.

that's funny, I know a lot of people who put kiss in front of queen as a great band. I just saw a list that had kiss at #3 and queen at #7 of the best 70's bands, so not everyone agrees with you. I personally can't stand kiss, but we can't deny their even more popular (at least in the states) than queen are. Hi Mike, i don't doubt that Kiss may very well be a more popular touring act than Queen now due to Freddies loss, but according to (RIAA) The Recording Industry Association of America Queen has sold something like 13.5 million more units than Kiss in the USA. So in terms of record sales they really aren't that close.

that's funny, I know a lot of people who put kiss in front of queen as a great band. I just saw a list that had kiss at #3 and queen at #7 of the best 70's bands, so not everyone agrees with you. I personally can't stand kiss, but we can't deny their even more popular (at least in the states) than queen are. My god, I just can't get over all the hostility that die-hard Queen fans have towards KISS, especially when this particular rumors rears its head every so often. When I see discussions of the same topic over on the KISS boards, they are [i]far[/i] more positive. In fact, they [b]welcome[/b] the idea of the two touring together, because KISS and Queen are, undoubtedly, two amazing bands. Recall that even Brian said that he regards KISS as kind of the American version of Queen, and he likes them a lot, so I don't see a KISS/Q+PR tour as out of the question. And if it does happen, you can count on me to be there. :)
The different between Q+PR & Kiss is : Queen has a soul and meaning in their songs and most important a big talent. Kiss has only noise and uglyness with no soul at all,just musicians who has no talent.

But KISS as you might understand Lusy Bulsara is not just a band, they when they, KISS want to, really rock and roll and it seems they know competition for the majority of fans at a concert, especially with Queen + Paul Rodgers. It would work but I'd make it a festival, alternating weekend slots, Friday & Saturday's.

KISS today is nothing but a franchising. Whomever agrees to paint his/her face and play some instrument, is in. Let's hope Queen doesn't turn into something like that and the names after the + stop after Paul.
It would be nice to see them together though, they are probably in my top 5 (top 10 for sure) bands. Rocknroll isn't just good lyrics or musical skills - it's fun and circus too.

There are some arrogant, small minded Queen Fans on here. Queen and PR should open for KISS, Why not, Iove both bands. Gene and Paul are the only two original members of Kiss but have been like that since the 80's with Brian and Roger its a new thing. As for U2, now they do suck!

OK Guys I'm a huge Queen fan and a huge Kiss fan, so I've got some fresh insights into all this. I was devastated when Freddie died and I needed something big to fill the void while the Queen guys found their way again and Kiss were the only band with enough of that Queen bombast to keep me happy. Both bands are and were the most entertaining bands in the world with the most loyal fans too. There are a lot of Kiss and Queen links.. Eric Singer Kiss's current drummer took over from the late Cozy Powell on Brian May's Another World tour. 3 ex-Kiss men Bruce and Bob Kulick and Eric Singer recorded a version of "Save Me" on the Dragon Attack tribute to Queen (with Jeff Scott Soto). Eric Singer also played with Brian and Roger as Queen on several occasions when Brian and Roger where testing the water live. Kiss drummer Eric Carr died of Cancer on the very same day as Freddie. Queen and PR actually have actually already 'supported' KISS on the 25th of May 2006 VH1 Rock Honors show. It was Paul Stanley that was in awe though at meeting his hero Paul Rodgers. The Queen PR/Kiss thing would be great. Queen are now the biggest UK band of all time (saleswise now outstripping the Beatles) and Kiss have more gold albums in the US than any other band (yep including the Beatles). Imagine what they could do for each other on a word tour! I beg you put your reservations aside and check out Kiss get the greatest hits, Destroyer album or the Kiss symphony concert on DVD and likewise if you're a Kiss fan do the same and listen to Queen. : )
