Just because you write a song about god doesn't mean your a christian. I believe in a higher power, a god, but I don't believe in any one religion anymore. I grew up as a christian. I'm also not a part of organised religion, it's Just not my thing. I think freddie, like me, was a spiritual person, but not religious. There's a big difference.

1) Freddie was in a Catholic School. I agree "Mad the Swine" is a gospel song with sheer Christian text. "Jesus" - no comment and last but not least "Beelzebob" is a character from Christian religion and not from muselim or any other.
However point 2) is more interesting to me and it really puzzles me.
2) Freddie was the god-father of Mary's eldest son! So far so good BUT... According to the christian canons - you cannot be a god-father UNLESS you are a christian yourself! That's what really makes the whole story odd!
===
No offense, but neither point is all that odd or leads to proof of Freddie being christian.
1) Non-christian families send their kids to catholic school all the time. They view the religious instruction there as a way of learning about another religion, not as a means of adopting it as their own. Writing stories, articles, songs, whatever, with christian connotations proves a working knowledge of it, not necessarily an adherence to it. I'm sure our own Thomas Quinn and SirGH could write some interesting christian prose and no one can ever accuse either of them of being christian.
And, again, no offense, but there's nothing very interesting about Freddie being someone's god-father.
2) I had my daughter christened by a Lutheran pastor and chose a great guy to be her god-father. Thing is... the guy is Jewish. His religion was simply a non-issue. All he had to do was say 'yes' when asked if he denounced Satan. Of course, that never would have happened in a catholic church but that's no reason to think because Freddie was someone's god-father that he was christian at some or any point in his life.

1. But maybe going to a Catholic school made him feel close to that religion.
Freddie's references to Christianism doesn't prove anthing, but are an indication.
And no one is "accusing" Freddie of anything... :).
I think that his "God bless you" at the end of concerts is a clear indication that he believed in (some kind of) God. That doesn't mean he was a Christian, though.

Might very well be. But you can be a Christian and not be a part of an organized religion.

Of course not...
That's the same thing as saying "You can be a cucumber without being a vegetable"

Like all rock stars of note, Freddie 'Beelzebub' Mercury was a devil worshipper.

What about people who consider themselves Christian, but don't go to church nor anything like that?.

Well... there are strange people all over the world... according to the guy who set up this website - http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20America/Rock-n-Roll/freddie_mercury.htm - our dear Freddie was certainly not a christian.
An excerpt from the page -
"Freddie Mercury spent weeks planning his own funeral, but failed to prepare his soul to meet God. The Word of God plainly teaches that ONLY through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ can anyone go to Heaven. Freddie Mercury placed in faith in false religion, and NOT upon Jesus Christ. This is so tragic! Read the following phrase from the above article again, "Zoroastrian priests, dressed in white muslin robes and caps, chanted traditional prayers to their god Ahura Mazda, also known as the Wise Lord, for the salvation of the singer's soul." Freddie Mercury is not in Heaven according to the Bible, he is in Hell suffering. Why? Because he was a homosexual? No! It's because Freddie Mercury did not obey the Gospel of Christ..."
So... in the eyes of at least some Christians... Freddie was not one of them. :-/

SO, according t them, if he would have had a Christan funeral, he would be in heaven?, it wouldn't matter that he was gay?. Interesting.

Freddie wasn`t a christian, he was just a sympathizer. Or, which is more likely, he followed some traditions as he lived in a christian country. I think he didn`t pay any attention to religion, he was indifferent to it, but understanding others.
