by the way, you've done a hell of a job with the Earls Court's re-remastering!
I fucking love it!
looks/sounds awesome! ;-)

Glad you like it. Maybe I upload something similar for next Christmas :-)

Agreed!! Nice work. Love to see you have a go at Houston :-). I will get round to posting Buenos Aires and Roger gig (filmed by DoRo) one of these days. Let me get the convention out the way first and I'll see what I can do............................
I can start to understand why collectors hoard items when you see the way wankers like 928 act.

Hehe cheers. Yeah that one. I WILL get it you within your lifetime ;-), still got your addy. It's not as big as an upgrade as Houston was, existing Buenos Aires copies are pretty good, but again, it's a generation up from whats available.

You know what, I actually thought it was Kassel, then checked and realised it couldnt have been?!?!? I need to dig it out my mums house to check - been over five years since I looked at it.
Yes BA '81 is an upgrade to whats (commonly) out there. All the one's I've seen have in some way been from the QTV version or a not great original 'Canal 9' recording, this is a lower gen than that.
Why do'ya ask?

I'm pretty sure this is a different version

No, it's not.
This is a f*cked up NTSC conversion from pow-wow's PAL VHS > DVD transfer shared here on rapidshare by me and as a torrent by YourValentine
These bastards simply downloaded it, converted to NTSC and now sell it
Wouldn't it have been NTSC to begin with?

I've asked because I wasn't sure wich Roger video you were talking about (I only knew the Cologne 94 doro video. Was hoping the Doro twins shot some more...)
Also, I'm looking forward to a BA upgrade since that one is a great concert IMHO.

Pete clearly said "pow-wow's PAL VHS" that means the original VHS, copy from the master (I assume) it's PAL
format, no matter the format of the original master tape.
It doesn't matter if the original tape was NTSC, the only important thing here is that pow wow's tape was in PAL, since we cannot have a direct transfer from the original master tape.

I wasn't referring to Pow wow's copy. All I was saying was... assume the master is NTSC... since it was shot in Houston.

I know. In this case it doesn't matter the original master is NTSC.
No need to convert again to NTSC if pow-wow's tape it was in PAL.
The less we convert the bloody tape, the better.
No need to keep fucking that video up, don't you think? ;-)

I understand exactly what you are saying. I'm not suggesting converting again was a good idea. All I'm saying
is it's not a PAL recording. It's already been converted once. Screwing with video is not for amateurs. I've seen some great jobs done improving quality. Snivlle's remaster of Earl's Court is a good example. But I've also seen vintage Bowie and Rush shows... where I prefer the originals, warts and all, compared to what was lost trying to make them better.
