Ok, so it sounds like you just deleted one channel and you've got a mono file left over. Your DVD software probably won't recognize that, as the standard is 16 bit 44khz stereo. So I'll just duplicate the channel, making a stereo file, but the content itself will remain mono... and I'll normalize the volume.

Tsunami did recognize it, I think you said the original audio was mono, so the stereo AC3 was really
just mono duplicated.
I am upping the audio now.

Indeed... so half the file size will make this all the more easier. Good then!

Are you planning to remaster the audio or just increase the volume slightly?

It looks and sounds perfect on my end. Look at the size of the wave (I've isolated WWRY at the end of the show):
I'm not going to touch it. I say burn it as is. :-)

OK I will...and up it here...

Perfect. Looking forward to (what's hopefully) the final version.

So the idea is to demux the pal version and use womble or the likes to replace the audio with this wav file as it is??

SirGH - this sounds actually like the version I've sent you, or ? :)

Yours is lossless, but it has a hum in the background... listen carefully in headphones. The one here, although it's not lossless, doesn't have the hum, so it sounds better to my ears.

So now a "final version" is being made with lossy audio?
Correct me if I'm wrong but that wouldn't be a final version in my opinion.

Lets call it the best available version. I'm so looking forward to it. A truly great show. I really appreciate all the effort everyone is putting into making the best possible copy.

I've seen and heard some pretty crap 'lossless' material. Some people however consider it to be superior no matter what the arguement. I personally think some things either look or sound better, despite theory suggesting otherwise.

The audio was taken from the original DVD that was shared here, with one channel removed as per the discussion above.
It's only "lossy" in the sense that it was 113 minutes on a single DVD, as opposed to being spread over two discs. It's not like it has been compressed like an mp3. This version will be like the last share by tgunn, except the audio won't clip and distort in a couple of the songs. To my ears it's much better than the version with the hum in the background.
If any ears think they can hear some kind of compression in the sound and will still complain, then they're welcome to track down a better version and, of course, share it here.
