How long have you been playing? What type of music & instrument{and what brand?}  do you play? Who were your influences? Do you play more than one genre of music? Etc.

I used to play the guitar in a hard rock band, but I had to move to another city to attend classes at university. Due to my studies, I haven't practiced properly since november or so, with a small exception in February. During that period, all I did to improve musically was to study harmony. Once I get used to my new schedule over here, I'll start practicing again, and once I'm in good shape I'll start looking for a band. My goal is to create a blues rock/early hard rock/early heavy metal band (you know, that bluesy sound from the late 60s: Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience, early Led Zeppelin, early Black Sabbath...), but while I don't find musicians with the same interest, any kind of rock band will do for me, so that I'll at least be active.
I do.

Reggae. With an unintentional touch of disco, I think. Sounds horrible. But it's not.

Who were your musical influences if any. Sounds interesting[/img] . Also is it a hard genre of music to play?

I play drums in a local band called Unbalanced. Our style is kind of hard to summarize in one word, as we do hard rock, some metal, punk, and 'funk-rock'. You get the idea.

I've been in the band since September 2007, and have played 5 live shows to date. Although we haven't recorded an album yet, we do put out some demos online as well as live material, which you can hear some examples of on our website http://www.unbalanced.ca

On the side, I can also play some bass and guitar (mostly rhythm - I only read tabs unfortunately, although I am slowly starting to learn some songs by ear better these days as opposed to relying on tabs). My favourite song to play bass along to is Pink Floyd's "Money".

Good post  and thanks for the link which I will go check out. I think it's amazing that you are able to play 3 instruments. What is your favorite one to play?

Drums, of course. That's the easiest for me to do by ear :-)

Bass would be 2nd.
