Well, I don't play in a band...

..but I'm a singer, and I sing with a quartet that specializes in classical vocal quartet repertoire.  (La di da).
..and sometimes, the soprano and I do concerts of classical and opera duets.

im a singer, its just 3 of us right now, but hopefully there will be 4 again someday.

i play bass and piano, a little bit of guitar, but i suck at it.

played piano since i was 10, wrote songs since i was about 7 or 8, played bass since i was 14 and have been attemptign to teach myself guitar.

my range is ridiculous, but im too shy to use all of it yet.

i dont have a band name yet.

I should be in a band, I suppose, but aside from some fill-in work I did in January - nada.

I used to play in a band.

I played piano in it.

I joined 2 years ago.
And last summer, we were invited to play at a concert in san antonio.
we opened up for a local band (their name has something to do with cucumbers)
haha

the hilarious part was that s.a. thought we were better.

unfortunately i had to leave december of 2008
due to the fact that i have to finish my bachelors degree and working 3 jobs.
now it'll be two because i'm getting stressed.

the bummer part was that there were 11 band members.
2 pianos (i was the first piano to join)
2 electric guitars
1 accoustic guitar
1 bass
1 drummer
4 singers

we sounded really good too.

but now the number has reduced to 6
1 piano (cause i left)
2 electric guitars
1 accoustic guitar
2 singers

the drummer is one of my best friends
he left also cause he has to take many classes and work

In case any of you were wondering what kind of drum kit I use, it's a Mapex Orion kit (which Josh owns).

Here are some pics I took on Sunday :-)

Cool set man[/img] ! Have you used any other brands, and if so which one did you like the most?

When I started out, we had a cheap Gretsch (csp?) kit, which had one rack tom and one floor tom, and I don't recall what the cymbals used were, but it had a small bass drum, and wasn't that good to be honest. We did expand it to include 3 toms (to replace the one rack tom) later on, before we upgraded to the Mapex. Not sure I took actual pictures of it - I do have videos though, but would prefer to keep them offline, as I was a bit crap then compared to now :-P

The Mapex kit I use now is my favourite.

Well, that's kind of hard to answer. I could play simple stuff and maybe then some during concert band in (junior) high school rather discontinuously between 1999-2005. But for proper rock band, which was a dream of mine for a long time, it took me a few months (since joining in Sept. 2007) to sort of catch up to my band's standard (I was pretty crap at first...), with still quite a bit of room always for improving and adding to my technique.

I play jazz trumpet.  But I'll play anything within reason.  Influences include Louis Armstrong, Maynard Fergusan, Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderly, Freddie Hubbard, and the like.  Also, let's not forget about Queen, Tchaikovsky, Metallica, and the like.  I take part in four bands, all associated with the college I'm attending -- Big Band, Jazz Combo, Wind Ensemble, and Marching Band (I'm a drum major).  Oh, I've been playing for 11 or 12 years...and prior to that I played trombone for a year.  I'm learning piano, voice, and various percussion instruments at the moment.  In the recent past I learned basics in violin, viola, cello, and bass.  I will be diving into trombone, frenchhorn, tuba, clarinet, flute, saxophone (various types), etc within the next two and a half years.
