This was the worst movie out of the whole series yet! Bring back Mike Newell or Chris Columbus!!!!!
When it ended, I thought "That's it?"
I'm going to do what Stan and Kenny on South Park after seeing Passion of the Christ: get my money back from Mel Gibson.

If I'd had plans to see this movie, I'd be really conflicted right about now!
Same here. I fell asleep watching the first movie (maybe I was too tired), and oddly I fell asleep everytinme I've tried to watch it. So I stopped trying.
And you know what? Exactly the same thing happened with the Lord Of the Rings series as well. Maybe I just don't like fantasy movies, i dunno.

Me either..Well, I tried to watch the first one several years ago, but was losing the will to live about half-way through and shut it off.

I'm waiting for the next one... Harry Potter & The Severly Beaten Dead Horse
Wow. I didn't think even *you* could be this sad and embittered.

I have that problem with Lord Of The Rings. Bought the book, got halfway through, and just never finished it. It didn't grab me at all. Thought I'd give the films a go, bought the first one, got less that half way through and turned it off.
I think Harry Potter takes a while to get into, I mean, the first and second book, is pretty much an introduction for the rest of the series, making sure that the books that follow all make sense. I didn't get really into Harry Potter until the fifth book.

I think it depends what way you look at it. If you're comparing it to the book then it is definitely one of the least true so far. As a stand alone film however, it's great. While not necessarily making total sense, it is visually stunning, has a fantastic score and the mise-en-scene is wonderful. The acting has improved, even that of Dumbledore, AND it has Alan Rickman in it. It's definitely the one I have enjoyed most, with Chamber of Secrets coming second.
I done triple post :(

I seriously doubt David Yates could be a worse director than Chris Columbus.
The problem with Chris Columbus is that he doesn't encourage child actors to actually perform good. He just lets them deliver lines without telling them that they are not doing it right. Just look at those 'Home Alone' films. I could punch Macaulay Culkin every time he talks. I don't blame Daniel Radcliff for watching scenes from those first films and feeling embarrassed about it.

Not looking forward to this at all but had to bite the bullet today as I promised my wee girl I'd take her.
Couldn't make head nor tail of it. Maybe that's because I haven't read the books or watched earlier films. But still --- the acting was wooden, the dialogue dull, and the jokes flat. The word 'moribund' comes to mind. Almost as bad as Twilight, in fact. I wish I had those two hours over again.

Oh come on, I can say in full faith that NOTHING could ever possibly be as bad as Twillight.
