Queen 2 would probably be the most perfect Queen album, if it didn't contain The Loser In The End - surely one of Queen's worst tracks.  It just totally ruins the flow of the album, and I always miss it out to keep the overall mood going?

I've always wondered whether the rest of the band, plus Roy Thomas Baker, privately agreed with this?  Can't help feeling they must have!!  They really should have said "it's a B-side, Rog" and let Brian write another classic to finish the side.

Still, perhaps all great albums have their "Within You Without You" moment ?  [/img]

I love the Loser In The End.  I agree it's the weakest track but I like it a lot.

One doubt: Why The March of The Black Queen was never played live complete...I mean, it only appears in "those" meddleys???
Well .... I´d say this is one of their most ellaborated songs in terms of orchestrations, choruses, change of tempos .... quite difficult to recreate live .... except for the part they actually did !
That must be why Jeff Scott Soto didn't perform it at the 2003 Queen convention.

i mean that if loser in the end not was on the album it hadnt been as goodas it is

The Album had a concept which included emotion and most distinctively fantasy. The Album contained neat piano flourishes and operatic vocal work from Freddie Mercury, guitar virtuosity from Brian May, powerful, deep drumming from Roger Taylor, the deep bass of John Deacon and Queen's powerful, majestic and operatic backing vocals which include the falsetto from Roger Taylor, Choir Vocal sound and most significantly the operatic vocals throughout the album including the Epic March of the Black Queen. The album could be quoted as a combination of early Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, The Who from 1966 - 1973 and Elton John.

sadly your right, it's a perfect album, but loser in the end doesn't fit.   The white side should have been finished by a brian song.  loser in the end is one of queens worst songs. Someone should have had the courage too tell roger that his song sucked.

I doesn't fit sonically and thematically. This is an album plagued of stories about ogres, queens, epic battles, marches, processions and mythologies then suddenly out of nowhere bursts a pedestrian song about a whiny spoiled teenager slamming the door and saying 'goodbye ma'.

The song doesn't suck, IMO.  There are plenty of people who like it so nobody should tell Roger the song sucked because it really is just a matter of opinion.
