How are we supposed to take this seriously when someone has put not ONE but TWO Pet Shop Boys tracks in the Masterpiece category?

Isn't that a "FOUL" or something?  I'm blowing my whistle and throwing a flag right now.

I hate lists such as these, because, inevitably, I'll leave something out. And, how does one define masterpiece? Really?
Still, I will give it a go, here, on a personal level.

Bo Rhap(there are many Queen songs which are favorite songs--there IS a reason I am a Queen fan, but, so many are a close second to Bo Rhap, I decided to leave them off)

Baba O'Riley(almost up there with old Bo Rhap, for me)
Dream On
Hotel California(atmospheric to the max, man)
Hell's Bells
Freebird
Don't Look Back
Renegade
The Chain(more atmospheric stuff for me)
Hallelujah
Gimmee Shelter
The Load Out/Stay
What's Goin' On
Everyday People
Blue Eyes Cryin' In The Rain

Crap...already, I've forgotten Hey Jude and Imagine. How could I??

What's the deal with the whole Pet Shop Boys-hating over here? [/QUOTE]

It's just not over here.

Hey, your other choices were quite good.  But then you pull out the Boys.  C'mon, you can't seriously tap your toes to that @#$! and say "Man, this rocks!!!!".

There's more than one definition of "gay".

This is a case where more than one defines this band.  They're gay... but they're also gay...  you see what I'm saying?

But, Sir GH redeemed the thread nicely.  Olias.  Nice.

While I agree that some of their stuff is very pop-oriented IMO tracks like the ones I named are well-written tracks which happen to have a dance beat. Left To My Own Devices features a full orchestra and was worked on for months - so what if it doesn't rock? Stuff by Beethoven doesn't "rock" - but most people would consider that classics too...

You're missing the point.

Beethoven is not gay... although he may have been.
Mendelsohn on the otherhand is gay gay gay.

Again, it's not about homosexuality (even though your boys are way way way), it's about it being gay.

It is hard to put into words.

Just trust me.  Listening, attending a concert, or having The Pet Shop boys in your collection is gay.  And that disqualifies them from the "Masterpieces" title.

There is help, though.  And we're here to support you through this life-change.
