Resurrection

Nice track - but a masterpiece... I used to love it, but these days I find it to be just a lot of noise with the synth horns or something. Which it didn't have that 80's hardrock feeling to it - but that it had a feel similar to Business - which IMO is a much better track :)

I agree, ressurrection hasn't aged well.

Well I love Resurrection.  It will never age in my ears.

I mean, that's a shit load of music for one band!  And it's not even complete!
Ever seen how much music Frank Zappa composed over his lifetime?  It's about the equivalent of 8 or 9 Queens, and he wasn't around for that much longer.

Actually, now that I've written that list, and wasted an hour of my life, I hate Queen.  Just kidding, haha.  It was nice to list their songs and become more aware of just how many songs are in their catalogue.  I mean, that's a shit load of music for one band!  And it's not even complete!
So why did you do it?

It's incomplete, in no order whatsoever, it just a list of songs by one artist.  The internet has just taken a step backwards because of you.  Thanks a lot.

But you can't really think Delilah is better than Lost Opportunity, which you omitted.

And Hangman is the 7th worst rock song ever written in the history of Rock & Roll.  Even John Mclaughlin's solo on IFE is better.

Brilliant. I was giggling out loud like a teenager at the office while reading.

So true, and, in a nutshell, no less.

Let me try to expand a bit further for multi-genres:

ROCK:  Michael Bolton is Gay.

TECHNO POP:  Erasure is gay.

COUNTRY:  Pretty much everything after 1994, gay.

ADULT CONTEMPORY:  Celine Dion is gay

JAZZ:  Kenny G is gay

RAP:  Vanilla Ice is gay.   (Also, see "Hammer")

Anyone adding these to their lists will be penalized 15 yards AND a loss of down.  Multiple violations would require an ejection.

Hope this helps and doesn't offend.  It wasn't intended to.
I will admit that toward the end of the list it does begin to lose order, but there is order up until a certain point.  Stare at it for a bit longer and it might jump out at you.  As for favorites, I find it practically impossible to choose favorites.  I love music too much.

BTW, the list is tongue in cheek.

My Merriam Webster's dictionary defines "masterpiece" firstly as "a work done with extraordinary skill; esp : a supreme intellectual or artistic achievement."

Per that definition, the only Queen track I consider to be a masterpiece is "Bohemian Rhapsody."  Queen has a lot of great songs, many with superb vocals and guitar arrangements, but the bar for a "masterpiece" should be set pretty darn high.

I've got god knows how many masterpieces on my spotify playlist but my absolute favourites are:

Sail Away Sweet Sister
Sleeping on the Sidewalk
Who Needs You
It's Late
Ogre Battle
The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke
Nevermore
Tenement Funster
Flick of The Wrist
Lily of The Valley
Stone Cold Crazy
Misfire
Bring Back That Leroy Brown
Liar
Doin all right

The classics (Bo Rhap, rock you, champions, etc.) are also really great but they get old when you're a new fan and they're all you listen to. There are plenty of hidden gems out there in the earlier albums and I tend to prefer live versions of most songs (except ogre battle and Bring Back that Leroy Brown). Also on the "hidden gems" the band just sound like they're having fun whilst playing. That feeling just makes you happy.

If you want to hear some real masterpieces, you should listen to classical music; multi-instrumental, multi-layered, long solo's, harmonies, variations, songs that last for 10 minutes or more....
