When I was listening to the narrative by Brian and Roger on the DVD. Brian has said that what the band didn't know was the crowd at the venue were told that they couldn't stand up and also dance about and I think that pissed off the crowd a bit.. It has also been quoted that the crew filming the show had pissed off Freddie and the rest of band and Freddie getting his own back on the second night came out in shorts which means that it screwed up the continual to make it look as if it was all one show.

Great concert and DVD, but like you said the crowd was told by security that they had to remain calm and seated in their seats. There would be no getting over excited. Not much fun for concert goers.
[/QUOTE]
That does seem really strange. Why would they have told the public such a thing?. Ordered by who?, clearly not the band. And why anyway?.

I was at a Meat Loaf concert in Ontario in the late 80's, and the promoter came out and said wihout a hint of irony "Once again, to repeat, I reiterate' that we had to stay calm and seated. We got triple told in an absurd redundancy that I still share with people today as a particularly silly bungling of the English language. In 'Rock Montreal' era concerts in my city we could still get there early for the privilege of watching concerts from the floor where you were happily pushed and jostled as part of the surge crushing up towards the stage. Now, the floor is filled with rows of plastic chairs firmly stiched together with plastic ties and security to make sure it stays that way. Blah.

I think it was a number of things with the audience on this DVD (which I have on Blu-ray...love love love). The Canadian thing, plus I read that the original mix on We Will Rock You had the audience mixed low which started a bit of a meme for this crowd being listless, the front rows' awareness of the cameras perhaps, the mild agression of the band because of the backstage stuff, and the band's expectations after just coming back from South America and having the audience singing every word along with them.

Yeah, Brian did mention that they were just coming back from South America and were shocked by the difference.

At the end of Love of my life there is a very pretty woman in the audience with a camera and the camera pans on to her and then freddie looking at her like he was interested

I love the intro version of 'We Will Rock You'. Turns a tired classic into something that is just simply exciting and full of energy.

He also gets frustrated with the unresponsiveness of the crowd during Jailhouse rock and pretty much brings to song to an early end because of it
I enjoy Roger's singing here especially on Im in love with my car

and the crowd are pretty unresponsive like they dont really want to be there and dont really get excited that much until Bohemian rhapsody and even then the enthusiam fizzles out quickly

That's due at least in part to the fact that very little of the audience noise/sound made it onto the audio recording.
