Indeed. The Golders Green concert is very likely SQ-encoded, as is documented here: http://www.surrounddiscography.com/quaddisc/quadradi.htm#bbcsps and here: http://www.surrounddiscography.com/quaddisc/Queen-BBC%20Presents.mp3.

But I've yet to find any indication or documentation pointing to this recording beeing recorded and broadcast in quadraphonic sound.
The online lists of quad discography are notoriously inaccurate, listing things as quad that aren't and omitting many things that are.

The last time Golder's Green came up I posted a picture in that thread of the BBC transcription disc for that concert. The disc label does not say SQ, so it's not SQ or any other quad encoded. The BBC transcription disc service were very careful about labelling and archives, in many cases the transcriptiom service archives are the only copies that remain at the BBC.

Also my friend who runs the qaud blog I linked to above tried a decode of Golders Green from several sources and could detect no quad encoding.
So I suppose that the announcer is lying about the concert being "broadcast in stereo and compatible SQ quad"? Or you claim that this is a fake announcement?
I think it's very clear that the concert was broadcast in SQ encoded quadraphonic sound - at least in the 1975/09/13 broadcast.
I believe it's unreasonable to claim that 'natural phase shifts' cause the guitar to be panned as accordingly as it is. Phase differences due to mic placement on a guitar amplifier can't phase shift the entire frequency spectrum equally (except for 180 degrees, which is not the case here).

The question now becomes how do we get hold of a recording that is from the 1975/09/13 broadcast and no other source. The best source is the transcription disc but that is not labelled as SQ and doesn't decode.
