Perhaps it would be more accurate to say "1st Generation Mini-Disc digital copy", rather than direct from "Master Tape". If the actual "Master" sounds marginally better, it will be made "officially" available to those who need it. This is more than we all could have wished for. So again JSS. Thanks a million. This is just great! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<  The reason for the drop after 18khz is not "> cd means downgrading quality" it is because of  the mini disc stage which uses lossy compression(think you can only reach 32Khz, could be wrong). At least the positive aspect of these not being direct from the master is that QPL can't complain that the best quality copies of these sesisons have been shared for free on the internet.
Let's face it. We are ALL going to go and buy the official release (aren't we folks...) IF it happens, so apart from the odd person who would download the official release for free anyway, it's not as is QPL are going to lose out on any revenue because we have got these. If nothing else, it has just whet our appetite even more for the official product!

In my 24 years of collecting Queen, I have NEVER heard  (nor come across) these sessions with the crowd dubbed on!
Perhaps it's because the ones I bought on vinyl back in the late 80's (with Session 2), are clean, reasonably good sounding versions and I've not really gone out of my way to look for upgrades...

The versions with crowd overdubs are featured on the Rhapsody In Red boot, as welll as other boots.

Here they are in flac. Just for those who want to know how the old inferior ones sound.

A big thank you to all concerned for this one, the quality is amazing. If you put this on and walk into another room it sounds like Queen are playing in your house.

It takes me back some 30 years (or so) when I played some hashed up version on an LP with fake audience and clapping, but nonetheless blitzed by the energy of it all. Does anyone else just love the way Roger belts out the top harmonies on We will rock you?

Should time and your continued generosity permit, I look forward to any other jewels that you may care to offer. Hangman anyone?
Again, hugely grateful [/QUOTE]

I actually find this quite interesting.

I have a copy of that session with the fake crowd noise added. It was widely available a few years ago. To say it is shit is an understatement......... the person responsible truly did piss on a picasso........
