Hypocrisy because of what? You've chosen to share some recordings. Fine. Great. Some people (including me) did the same. Other people choose not to share. Deal with it.

That's pretty obvious.
By the way, it's remarkable how some regular visitors do NOT visit this topic.
I just find it very sad that because of this selfish behaviour by so-called "private collectors", genuine fans can not enjoy great uncirculated recordings from our favourite band. For some people it's still about the music. For others all what matters is their "collection" and then especially the fact that they have something that only "a few elite collectors" have.
You went to Antwerp 2005 and 2008, right? Were you videotaping?
NO.
I was.
You could have done the same. Instead, you enjoyed the show and started begging for the video afterwards. When did I ever begg you for the videos you made at the QPR Antwerp shows? I NEVER did that. Don't put words in my mouth.
All I wanted was an audio recording of the 2005 show, for emotional reasons. (didn't have to ask for the 2008 show because Olivier - such a nice guy!! - send me an audiorecording faster than I could ask for one).
You might remember we did a trade for the 2005 recording. I had to give 4 Queen-shows that weren't circulating much at the time, to get that QPR-show and I could - under no circumstance - trade your precious recording. By the way, I never did trade your recording.
And you call me a begger? What would you call yourself then?

I'm not taping shows for your enjoyment. I'm creating my own souvenirs because I only live once. All you beggars can kiss my ass. The funny thing is: are you actually taping the shows for YOUR enjoyment?
You've said at various times you don't ever listen to your stuff... Why do you do it then?
And for your information: I HAVE found GENEROUS tapers (who taped stuff in the seventies!) who were willing to share their stuff so that we can ALL enjoy it now. I'm sure it's a good thing it wasn't you who found those people... (who taped the real deal and not QPR by the way..)

Some people need to re-read John's first post in this topic. The main idea behind this topic is starting to vanish now.

I DO listen / watch the concerts I tape. Of course. I said on various times I don't listen / watch voios / roios from shows I haven't visited. That's why I gave up trading those voios / roios.
Good for you, you found 70s tapers. I don't care. I didn't live in the 70s. I don't listen to those recordings much. I prefer to visit shows and make my own tapes. Maybe you will understand if you tape a show yourself.

"Rotterdam 78 is out of the question--I will never share it" "I'm not taping shows for your enjoyment. I'm creating my own souvenirs because I only live once. All you beggars can kiss my ass." "Other people choose not to share. Deal with it."
I really don't give a rat's ass if you share something or not, but don't fucking come on this site and start posting arrogant nonsense like what I quoted from above. Some of the younger fans (including myself) weren't BORN during Queen's heyday, so DUHHH--we would like seeing other people's filmed works of the band. A friend of mine and myself, are currently in contact with someone who possesses a portion of Queen's first concert on The Game Tour (Vancouver). We will be (hopefully) seeing the rest of the concert (6 songs were salvaged from a tape) within a few days. The moment we get the songs, I'm going to post a torrent of the concert and let EVERYBODY have access to it. It's called SHARING. Deal with it.
If the person who said the following quotes instead said: "I have this recording, but please respect my intents on keeping it private," then we wouldn't post the "hoarder" comments, and we would respect your decision, and drop the matter instantaneously. So instead of acting like an arrogant prick (and talking back to one of the archivists), just keep those kind of comments to yourself.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< About Rotterdam:
I understand your point about me being an arrogant prick but you should realise I had already offered to share Rotterdam in another topic if other people would do share their rarities (Lakeland, Monterrey, Puebla etc). No one responded.
I only commented on the Rotterdam matter once again because someone asked about it in this topic (sir GH)
I realised the "we all share our rarities thing" doesn't really work (this topic is another good proof of that) so that's when I decided to sell the master.
About taping shows: Yes. I tape shows for my own enjoyment. I't my personal souvenir. I'm not taping for other people. If they want a tape they can always try to bring their own equipment and tape too.
About hoarding: Some people share. Some people don't. Deal with it. Funny that the starter of this topic mentions Bruce Springsteen fans as being altruistic and sharing and all that. I know a guy who filmed over 100 Bruce Springsteen concerts. Shared nothing. Every communtiy has this. u2 is famous for it's fan projects wich leads to some great multi angle videos wich are shared for free. But U2 fans are also famous for hoarding IEM recordings.
Again, deal with hoarding. It will always be there.

I want to clarify a couple points: You not sharing anything doesn't make you an "arrogant prick". It's the whole "kiss my ass/you weren't there/deal with it" comments that made me write that post. I'm almost positive that everybody on this site has got some recordings that they would keep private--that's fine. I just don't like it when people say that, but then go on forums, say they have stuff (especially rare material), but refuse to share it.
BTW, I doubt you are an arrogant prick in real life, I'm just going off the comments I have read. Cheers.

You filmed QPR gig(s): would you be willing to share any of those?
Let's try to keep this thread a positive one: who else is willing to share and has one of the gems Sir GH wrote about? Of course, just sending them to Peter for upload without making yourself known is also an option:-) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< You didn't ask for my videos???

You made clear you weren't willing to share the Rotterdam'78 footage. That's why I asked whether you'd be willing to share the QPR gigs you filmed. That was thus asked just to keep this thread going, as you can read in that post.
There's a big difference between begging and asking whether you'd be willing to share something;-)
Don't worry, I'd never begg for a QPR video. I'm a much bigger Queen-fan than a QPR-fan to be honest. For me the QUEEN-stuff is the real deal.
