Yawn.... Whatever, troll.

I don't agree at all. Putting aside whether one likes boxing or not (I BTW love it), it's consensual. People choose to fight. Bulls don't choose to 'fight'.

LOL You are the one who brought up hate. You are also the one who follows me into threads and abuses me. As for being off topic and rude, you should look in the mirror.

Nice try calling me a troll, but the only troll here is you. Who is also, it seems, a misogynist. Like Skip. You two are so alike, it's sickening.

Uh, neither do I. Are you confusing me with Skip? Because you're getting desperate. For your information, there is only one Kiss song I actually like. Worship Kiss? LOL. You really are getting desperate if you throw insults at me, which have nothing to do with me! I also don't like country music. How about you say something like 'at least I don't worship country music'? LOL

BTW, you do realise that you are seriously off topic? You accused me of going off topic (even though you started it), and now look at this! You also don't dispute that you're a misogynist and that you are identical to Skip.

Now, can we get back to discussing the bullfighting ban, or would you prefer to troll?

lol. Maybe you could attempt to be be more specific about whom you're talking about? Unless you say that you're talking about Skip, I can only assume that you're talking about me. Especially since all you do is insult me.

There's a first time for everything. Hopefully it will be the last time.

On boxing:  Sometime in 1980 or 1981 my friends and I somehow ended up hanging out in a downtown hotel room with a few members of a boxing team from Toronto. They were 18 or so, and we were 13 or 14, pretending to be older.  The situation was as you might imagine it, with abundant alchohol and abundant awkward moves.  I wouldn't bother to set the mildly sordid tale, except that it's an important part of the story because there was one boxer who was in complete contrast with the others.  He didn't want to drink, and he didn't want to fool around, and he didn't want to do any other single thing that might affect his tournament match the next day.   He fascinated me, and I extracted myself from the situation I didn't want to be in anyway and spent the next 2 or 3 hours talking to him about everything and nothing. It was probably as good a conversation I've ever had with anybody. He was gentle, and smart, and funny and he had this great open face, but he had this steely focus on being a champion at the same time.  It was the first time I understood the difference between being good and being great, watching him and watching his teammates.  He went on to do Canada pround, winning the silver medal in the 1984 Olympics, and he eventually turned pro. Now, Shawn O'Sullivan is in his late 40's.  That young man I talked to 30 years ago is utterly gone.  In his place is an old, old man that suffers from boxer's dementia.  His speech is slurred, his thoughts are slow, he loses his balance frequently, and his memory fails him constantly. Boxing is a choice, but they don't really know what they're chosing.  They don't believe they'll ever be anything other than young and strong and resiliant. In my view, something has to be done to better inform or protect these guys. If anybody is interested, there is an interview from earlier this year with Shawn O'Sullivan here: http://www.globaltvbc.com/Shawn+Sullivan/2437480/story.html

I absolutely agree that something needs to be done to protect them. But I don't think that banning is the answer.

Personally, I love boxing. I consider it to be one of the world's most skillful sports. I also have a personal connection as I've dated three boxers (none of whom went beyond the local/national level), and when I was younger I did a bit of boxing myself.

That said, there needs to be far better protection of boxers who are vastly inferior to their opponents, and those who are in no condition to fight. In Australia, recently, Danny Green knocked out Paul Briggs in 29 seconds. Not only was Briggs overweight, but he has neurological problems. New South Wales didn't sanction the fight, however Western Australia did. WA should never have sanctioned it, Green should never have fought him, the relevent boxing authorities should have stepped in, and Briggs should have been prevented from fighting Green when he was in absolutely no condition to do so.

:D :D I should probably admitt that my description of them was quite generous. One of them was ranked among Australia's top ten amatuer boxers in his weight division (middleweight) but was not good enough to turn professional, and went into teaching instead. He was the equivalent of an American basketball player who starred in his high school, and perhaps college as well, but wasn't good enough to make the NBA.

Another fighter that I've dated was a good under-19's boxer who became a good local boxer, and earned a bit of money; but was not good enough to sustain a proper career and decided to retire after a brief career. He actually went into kickboxing, but it was never serious.

The third fighter I dated was an extremely talented female boxer, but female boxing (especially in Australia) is even harder to achieve success in than men's boxing, and although she was at it for a while, she never really went anywhere.

No, the only person who is rude is you. You are nothing but a disgusting troll. The fact that you pick out what I say, TO OTHER PEOPLE, on this thread, as well as the Mosque thread, proves what a filthy troll you are. As for being rude, remind me, who was it who called the other person a bitch? Nasty creature. Rude is your middle name.

"but rude to all of the thread"

It's none of your business how I treat other people. I don't base my behaviour on what nasty trolls like you think. Thank god I don't.

"i hope that your husband will teach you some lessons."

I'm not marrried, but are you suggesting that if I were, he should 'teach me a lesson?' You are not only a repulsive misogynist, but a psychopath as well. The fact that you think that domestic violence is an answer to anything shows what a filthy, nasty, morally and intellectually bankrupt little creature you truly are.
