Tie Your Mother Down - That opening riff is one of THE rock riffs!
White Man - Just a pure blast of almost incoherent headbanging. No more needs to be said.
Now I'm Here because its a heavy metal classic. End of.
Doin' Alright [Queen version] - Total forerunner to the heavy section of Bohemian in its hard bits.
Put Out The Fire - clear and raw.
Stone Cold Crazy - first thrash metal song...
I Was Born to Love You [Queen version] - Brian and Roger run riot transforming the pop-rock approach into hard rock.
It's A Beautiful Day (Reprise) - The ambient opener flipped upside-down into a raging closer.
Was It All Worth It - Queen knew they had to end the eighties with a reasonably heavy song and did so marvellously.
Prophet's Song to an extent because there is a fair amount of heavy stuff embedded in the progness.
Sweet Lady - a metal riff in waltz time? Goddamn it Brian. And yet he churned out a pure spearhead of bombast.
Robbery - this demo gave Brian to unleash his godly power at the axe. Perfect for air-guitarring too.

And if non-Queen ventures are allowed, I would note Brian's cover of One Rainy Wish, China Belle, Let Me Out and Resurrection. The latter is an andrenaline rush for sure! The Cross also belted out a few heavy ones, so Penetration Guru, Rough Justice and the CD bonus cover of Foxy Lady are there too in my opinion.

I see that some Queen fans like to say that Stoned Cold Crazy was the first thrash song....Of course that's not true. It does have a thrashy riff,  but bands already started playing fast riffs by the time Stoned cold came out,  Besides, i think modern times rock N roll was just as thrashy and came out a year earlier.  Live queen were no doubt one of the heaviest bands of their time.  Stoned cold Crazy was even heavier live.  A shame general rock fans don't know how heavy Queen were.

Isn't Sheer Heart Attack (the song) more a punk song than a heavy song?

Well, I was the first to reply with SHA...no big dea(lol)l it's rather obvious, imo.

I AM surprised that people many can't see the OTHER obvious track "Gimme The Prize".  YES...it's '80's Queen...but c'mon...it's heavy like no other!

It doesn't matter if you don't like it(many don't, but I do!)...it's the heaviest thing they have done(besides SHA).

Yea,  Giime the prize is the heaviest song queen did in the 80's.  I like the song.  Princess of the universe is also pretty heavy,  but the early stuff was so raw.  The first album is heaviest of their career.  Not the  most original sounding Queen album, but the heaviest for sure.  that's why guy's like Dave Groghl, Rob Halford and David Lee Roth mentioned it as their favorite.

Mike, I think the debut album is very original.  It's just that the production standards were(understandably) lower than subsequent albums.

Wow....didn't even know that David Lee Roth had even liked Queen!

With all due respect, I don't see how Queen I is any heavier than SHA or NOTW.

the debute album is awsome,  one of my favs, but i don't think they found the Queen sound yet.  As a whole that is, yea it did have some songs like Fairy king that sounded only like queen.  David lee roth had a radio show here in New york a few years back and mentioned queen as one of his all time favorites, and calling freddie one of the best singer's ever.  He reviewed the first album, Gave a rave review of it,   and also said Eddie Van halen was a big fan who was Influenced by that early stuff.  NOTW had some heavy moments,  but overall wasn't as heavy as the first record.  Songs like Who Needs you,  All dead, Melancholoy blues , champions wern't all that heavy.  all amazing songs of course, but if we're talking heavy only a few stand up.  SHA,  the first side is heavy as anything they ever did,  but not as much on the second side, aside from Stone cold crazy.    The first album almost every song was heavy.  Even the ballad 'Doing Alright'  had some of the heaviest bits they ever did.

Mike...good response!

Well, now that you broke it down like that...I have to agree with you!

That's really cool about DLR and EVH...I knew that Eddie was a friend of Brian's, but didn't know if he was really a fan or not.  Van Halen with DLR is one of my favorite bands, and DLR is truly one of the great frontmans of rock.

Heaviest song is "Dead On Time." No question. It even has help from God Himself...

Oh damn! I forgot about Brighton Rock! This is one of the heaviest songs.
"I really feel like being evil tonight."

Modern Times Rock N Roll is fast, but....heavy?
Tear It Up and Put Out The Fire are heavy but not fast
Ogre Battle, Dead On Time, or Sheer Heart Attack are my picks, but the Metallica version of Stone Cold Crazy might be the winner.
Flick Of The Wrist kinda has that heaviness too...

I'm surprised
"Stone Cold Crazy"
has been only in very few of the replies! and it's not because of Metallica's cover, it's truly originally heavy.
Also: "Sweet Lady", from A Night at the Opera
