My worst 5 would have to be (in no particular order):
1) Now I'm here 2) All God's People 3) More of that Jazz 4) It's Late 5) Who Wants to live forever
And also I don't see why 'Keep Yourself Alive' didn't chart in the UK, I know it apparently didn't get going, but it's a great song!
Now I'm Here, It's Late - WTF?!?!? Sorry dude no way. I'm not mega keen on Princes Of The Universe.
KYA was rejected by BBC Radio One (though the late great Alan Freeman played the track on his shows) despite numerous attempts by EMI to get them to play it - the feeling being it took to long to get going and hence the change of tack with SSOR

ha! ha! the debate will never end... what is/are the best and worst that Queen ever recorded.Well, the answers will be as varied as the millions of people who listen to their music. IMO, "Party" is a fun song with a good "live band" feel to it and ends with some bad ass hard rock riffage... lyrics are silly? sure, but then more than half of their songs have silly lyrics (that's only rock, people!)
By definition, the worst Queen song is somewhere in Hot Space... just take your pick. Perhaps their best song too, "Under Pressure". There is also silly stuff on every album - and that's endearing. Same with the Beatles and other great bands.
I am thankful for Queen for so many hours of listening pleasure, Rock on, brothers and sisters!

Jesus pure and simple the worst Queen song ever and that is mainly due to the awful childish lyrics, spoils a great album at least on the CD and with MP3 players it is much easier to skip.
Also not a big fan of "The Miracle" again some of the lyrics just aren't up to scratch.

Okay, when I listen to More of That Jazz what turns me off the most is Roger's vocals, however the music I really like...all in all, it's not that bad but I'm not shocked to see it on people's lists. Fairy Feller's Master Stroke really doesn't belong on any of your lists. That is one of their finest tracks on Queen II. Tear It Up, while perhaps having cheesy lyrics, is a friggin explosion of a rock song. I love it.
For some of these songs, on paper (literally) the lyrics do seem cheesy, maybe even embarrassingly so...but how the entire song sounds totally made me forget or even realize that the lyrics are/were cheesy. Take Spread Your Wings for instance; cheesy-ass lyrics for sure, but the record itself is great.
Man On The Prowl is a real gem, I think. The Works is one of their finest albums, but this track is one of the stand-out tracks. How many rock groups could put out a song like this (much less an album like The Works) in the middle of an album that otherwise has no connection to it in genre, style, lyrics, etc? Underrated track that is in the 'Crazy Little Thing...' mold.
Life Is Real and Cool Cat are the two best songs on Hot Space, other than Under Pressure. They show a range that the vast majority of bands simply do not posses. I love Cool Cat a lot, very unique song even for that album.
Delilah: Yes, you'd be mistaken if you didn't thing someone next to you thought you were not only gay, but also an 8 year old girl, had they heard this song blasting from your headphones...but again, I love this song. Great guitar work on it, and, for Pete's sake Freddie was badly ill at this time and he probably got an immense amount of joy putting this song on the album. Freddie didn't give a shit what people thought about him and it certainly shows in this song. I love it!
Get Down Make Love: Should not be anywhere on this list, period.
Staying Power: I know it's getting old, but I love this track...the live version is even better I think. Live, it's harder and even more fast paced.
Prophet's Song: Should not be anywhere on this list, period.
Don't Try Suicide: Hilarious song (Snoop Dogg actually sampled a small bit of this song on one of the songs on Doggfather). This track really shows their sense of humor, even about something as tragic as suicide...but they convey a good message...don't try suicide.
Loser In The End: Fucking rocking track. Roger's machine gun-drums and Brian's chainsaw-guitar frigging tear the track apart in the best possible way.
Sheer Heart Attack: Pre-dates much of the punk sound that followed '77. Not that they were trying to or wanted to be labeled as "heavy" or "punk", but Queen could pull some ridiculously and violently loud tracks out of their hat when they wanted to.
Good Company: Should not be anywhere on this list, period. All those clarinets and horns on the song...oh wait...those are made by Brian on his guitar!!! A Night At The Opera is great more so because of this song (and Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon, '39, Seaside Rendezvous) and less so because of Bo Rhap.
The Miracle and Friends Will Be Friends: Just like Spread Your Wings; chessy lyrics, but Queen, like no other band could, made it sound uncheesy. I think it says something when, at least for me, I completely forget the cheesy-ness of the lyrics and keep thinking to myself how great of track it is (or maybe it's because I'm obsessed with Queen, or both!!!!). Friends is actually quite an emotional song. The few times John and Freddie collaborated, they really brought depth to a track that no other group collaboration/combo did.
Gimme The Prize (Kurgan's Theme): Another rip-roaring, throat slashingly rough song. Love it. My fiance hates this song, but I love it because of it's abrasiveness and Freddie is so friggin confident (more so than usual) on it.
Pain Is So Close To Pleasure: Another rare, but good, Deacon-Mercury collaboration. There are parts of this song that really tug at me. It's a fun, almost silly song, but there are certain parts that really grab my ear and make me listen
I think there is a reason why SO Queen tribute albums fall flat...no one can reproduce what Queen did and only a select handful can come close to doing them justice (Foo Fighters are the only one' s that come to mind, actually). Many of Queen's songs would sound awful had they been recorded by other artists. To say Queen was unique is an understatement. They knew what they were doing and were a very intelligent group of guys who almost surely knew when their lyrics sounded cheesy as hell...but the music, arraignments, and vocals they put around those lyrics made the songs great. Honestly, I've tried to listen to several Queen tribute albums and they don't just fall flat because I'm comparing the recordings to the original...it's because they sound truly awful.
Queen had a great sense of humor and also an ear for making something out of nothing (or, something out of what are otherwise cheesy lyrics). I'm sure they would agree with all the songs labeled in this forum as "cheesy" and also explain how they went about making it better.

Take a look at 'the fairy feller's master stroke' on Wikipedia. It is a painting by Richard Dadd, and if you study the painting then you will understand the lyrics Freddie wrote, and Oberon & Titania were from Dadd's painting called 'Contradiction'.Wikipedia even acknowledge Freddie's homage to the painting, and I quote... The Queen song "The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke" from the band's second album was born of Freddie Mercury's appreciation of the work; it makes direct reference to the painting's characters as detailed in Dadd's poem(exert from Wikipedia) (the painting is in the Tate Gallery in London), Apart from that...Side one of Hot Space is Queens worst work..or as they put it 'our attempt at funk which alienated a lot of our fans'. The only other track I don't play if I can help it is God Save The Queen.

Worst Queen song?
Pretty much everything after The Game, with a few notable exceptions.
It's true.
Notables?: The Show Must Go On Who Wants To Live Forever Under Pressure
And thats it.
There are a few songs that are catchy here and there (Its a Kind of Magic, Invisible Man, etc.) but its mostly crap.
Favorite Album: The Game, Jazz.

Given how prolific Queen were, they recorded very few sub sub-standard songs.
I always considered Don't Lose Your Head to be their worst track.
Delilah is one of the weaker ones as well. We all know Roger Taylor agrees with that.

the worst Queen's songs to me are:
- Hidden Track (from Made In Heaven) - Delilah (it's funny, but not fit in Innuendo) - Hijack My Heart - Don't Lose Your Head - Keep Passing The Open Windows - Body Language - Put Out The Fire - Don't Try Suicide - In Only Seven Days - Who Needs You

Szore..."Hammer To Fall", "Radio Ga Ga", "Innuendo"...those are "crap", too?

Party isn't so bad - don't think it was a good album opener though.
My baby does me, Body language, Don't lose your head, Misfire, Delilah, pain is so close to pleasure, Jesus etc..there are a few. However the very worst has to be 'Friends will be friends' - their worst song from their worst album - Shallow, Mawkish lighter waving, cringeworthy lyrics and horrible carthorse arrangement - it quite upsets me everytime I hear it.

This is the ONLY Queen song that is not all that great....and it is ONLY because it is too short.
Fairy Feller's Master Stroke, Delilah, Party...all the rest of the titles I've been seeing in this thread...all GREAT tunes!!!!
We need some real Queen fans visiting this site sometimes.

I'm that "real Queen fan". I love all Queen songs counting from the debut album and till Innuendo.

Real Queen fans - the ones who've followed them for decades and spent money on concerts, singles, albums, cd's, albums again and then cd's again, merchandise, vids, DVD's, even Guitars all have a right to comment and be objective (even when it's a subjective art form) when it's their money that put the Band where they are. The sun shone out of their collective arses -it's true. But not all the time..

"We need some real Queen fans visiting this site"
That's right - people who actually listen to what they paid to hear, as opposed to just sitting there with a retarded look on their face going "woo this is great, this is great". There's no harm in using your brain a little while you listen to music, and realise that not all of it is perfect. You can still love something that's imperfect - actually, that's one of the best kinds of love!
