I've been a fan of Queen since 1976 - when I first heard Bohemian Rhapsody on the radio. My preference is Queen's early '70s music and then the later '90s music. I'm not keen on some of the mid '80s stuff. But Queen was Queen and I love their stuff no matter what.

I have been a queen fan for about 27 years so hopefully I will pass the test of a true Queen fan, unfortunately I never got to see Freddie live but did go to the tribute concert and I have seen Roger and Brian several times on their solo/Q+PR tours.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, it's not their fault that sometimes their opinions happen to be wrong. Party is a good album track, it was never going to be a single or a classic Queen record but that's where Queen really came into their own. They wrote great album tracks, diverse tracks, heavy rock, love songs, jazzy numbers, folk etc. Ok some songs are (much) better than others but as a real true fan you can appreciate everything they have done. I am not going to say my worst 5 or 10 or even 20 queen songs are.....because firstly I don't have 'worst' songs, I don't particulary like Cool Cat but I appreciate it as a song. Quite frankly if you have 10 or 20 worse songs maybe you should start listening to someone else. But moods change one week Sheer Heart Attack is my second favourite Album (NOTHING will top Queen II) and another week Innuendo might be, just depends how I feel.
The variety Queen produced was fantastic, you listen to say an early Oasis Album and their last one and they sound very similar. You listen to Queen II and Hot Space and they are totally different. Its good they tried new things and stretched themselves, ok its not to everyones taste but as the great man said, Its only a bloody record.
Oh and Fairy Fellars is genius, who else could write a song like that and whoever compared it to Crocodile Rock needs to go a take a good look at themselves.

I would refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave some moments ago....

Absolute rubbish. Is there a person with more than an ounce of brain in their skulls in this forum? It's OKAY for a band or an artist to not be perfect. How can it be any simpler than that?? Just because you like some music that a band made doesn't mean you need to paint your face and engage in mindless factionalism that was past its use-by date decades ago. It's alright to not dig everything they do; especially considering that the band themselves have more than enough good sense to recognise the times that they got it wrong. (It's great fun watching Roger's commentaries sometimes).
Besides which, this 10-20 songs figure is just fine when you have a band who wrote the better half of 200 songs. Actually, that kind of ratio would really suggest quite a great band, if you ask me.

Absolutley agreed. Everyone creates a pile of shit. The best writers fuck up from time to time. Nothing wrong with that at all, but I think most of the fanboys on here don't want to admit it.

LOL, I hate to admit it, but even tho i hated Hot Space for years, I kinda like it now. Body Language is actually a good song if you get into it...
"I wonder when were gonna make it.... I wonder when you're gonna shake it...
LOL GOT to love this...

Agreed szore...Body Languege AND Fairy Fellers are awesome songs.
But you still havn't answered my question about "Radio Ga Ga", "Hammer To Fall" and "Who Want's To Live Forever".
Are those songs "crap" or not...you said that every thing besides "Under Pressure" and "The Show Must Go On" was crap after The Game.
I demand an answer!

Sorry Prime Jive,
I listed "Who Wants to Live Forever" as a notable exception, one of Queen's best, makes me weep every time I hear it... Truly an epic song, one for the ages...
Hammer to Fall is a good song too, Radio is also a good song, I love most of Taylors stuff, Yes, (even Loser in the End). Roger's Fun In Space has some of my all time favorite songs anywhere, Magic is Loose, Good Times are Now, Future Management, Laugh or Cry..
Innuendo...eh, it's OK...
I guess...
P.S.
I always liked how in Prime Jive Freddy starts the lyrics and Roger finished them, don't know any other songs with split vocals like that! And while I am ranting, what the hell are people saying Misfire is one of their worst, it's one of my favorites. More of that Jazz is weak, but it is by no means a bad song, and i think the samples of the songs on the album works quite well, for me any ways... Also Delilah isn't THAT bad... I think it was a very personal song for Freddy, and I like that.
You know i'm reading some of these posts as I write this and I'm getting pissed off! The Game, worst song? Are you fucking kidding me? Again, Now I'm Here? One of their worst? Where's my shotgun... It's Late! IT'S FUCKING Late, Worst song? Are you kidding me jonnypk? I need a drink, my hands are trembling... Yes I like cool cat, I love Freddy's singing...
I LIKE COOL CAT and i don't care who knows it!! ok, ahem, where were we... Funny How Love is an awesome song, wall of sound be damned, Silken I'm in Love with My CAr? Worse song? Really? Really? Are you on fuckin' crack? sigh... ok... I cannot read anymore of these posts.
Any body who thinks It's Late and The Game (and for that matter I'm In Love with my Car) are shit songs, meet me in Times square, 42nd street and 7th in NYC tomorrow at noon so I can kick you arse!!!!! ahem.

LOL...thanks szore!
Wholeheartedly agree about Fun In Space...it's one of my favorite albums ever! Ever song is killer!
I share your bewilderment at how many fans think "Play The Game" is one of their worst songs. The song is just pop/rock perfection.

Prime,
You wouldn't happen to be a hot single young lady living in NYC would you?
We may be soul mates...

To Zebonka and YannickJoker.........thanks for going easy on me. I have more than one brain cell thanks very much. Whereas you seem to think that insulting someone who has come onto the board for the first time to discuss a subject that I great passion about makes you the bigger men!
I am all for rational and intersting discussion and can see your points but why must you be so discourteous about it?

Not that it matters, but I just realized i made a mistake. Substitute "The Show Must Go On" Instead of "Who Wants to Live Forever" in my post above. Thats the one that makes me weep...
