Indeed, anyone in the world could have read his comments, as his privacy settings were non-existent. I'm not on his friends list and I read it all.
Hope he finds the peace he needs..

Strange though, Brian went to great lengths to make sure that See What A Fool I've Been wasn't taken from an old song, and he's been quoted tons of times about wanting to give and get credit where it's due. If indeed (only one person's side of the story) they did say they'd take care of him, there's a huge contradiction coming into play here. He'll try to search out old musicians to pay them money that may or may not be theirs, but an organization that he's a director of won't pay the help what they're entitled to based on the (uncredited to boot) work they've done? WTF.

Not really great lengths actually ... he's been quoted to claim he wish he knew who it was, but if he had made a very small effort like asking Tim or the Fan Club, he'd learnt about the authors as early as 1975, and would've been able to meet them in person before they passed away in 86 and 96 respectively. But it was never a priority for him.

Mmmm hmm. I'm still trying to figure out Twitter, so cut me some slack if it wasn't as flashy as the whole parting the Red Sea thing.
Don't call me an invisible man in the sky ever again. Final notice. Triple posting is really embarrassing, Bob.

You're being pedantic, Sebastian. The reason he wanted to meet or know of them is that he wanted to give them credit if he ripped off their song. It bothered him, there is no denying that. So, if it bothered him that he might have been upset about unintentionally infringing on someone's creative property (who he'd never met), wouldn't it make sense that it would bother him that a guy who worked for them, who he knew well, and contributed to a track's success (it wasn't an obscure B-side) didn't deserve the same recognition and rewards that some blues musicians he'd never met deserved? Not saying DR is right or wrong, but Brian has always spoken out about the importance of people receiving credit for the work they do, as he is an exemplary human being in a business filled with shits. And I mean that respectfully. Just seems odd he wouldn't right the alleged wrong. If DR is lying, shame on him.

Yep, that's his job, and that's why we love him.

Could be the drugs talking, too. I've seen first hand the emotional turmoil and imbalances they cause. Otherwise everyday things or off-hand comments can set the person off on wild extremes they cannot control. The piano thing might not have bugged Richards in 1981, but now he's piling all his stress and anger at the world on things he's thinking about during an unpleasant hospital stay. Or it's all genuine. I don't know.
The rambling and the tone of the post don't sound rational to me, but then I don't know the man. He might just have a dark sense of humour.
Either way, I hope for the best for him, that he recovers and lives a long, healthy life!

could be the cancer medication. I've seen it before with people who are dealing with that terrible disease.

Thanks for posting that Facebook entry.
It certainly is distressing to hear of David being so upset.
I met him in Montreux once and not only did he not mind me practically walking in to his flat while he was making a cup of tea he remembered my name as I had phoned him the previous week asking about visiting the studio.
Get well soon David.

some of you might be interested to know that David Richards was actually there and attended the opening of the Montreux studio experience this Monday. At one point he came out from the party area, visited the studio and shook hands with some fans.
however. the very sad thing he exactly looked like someone who survived a long cancer fight or ... or still fighting who knows.,, he aged 15 years during 2 years and now looking like a 75 year old man, very frail thin .... still he was keen to talk a few words and shake hands with the fans .. great man, sad story. :- (
