The picture of them playing '39 live is in fact them playing Dreamers Ball.

I spoke to Carlton PUBLICITY ENQUIRIES yesterday, seems they are ruling out a replacement CD for everyone who has already purchased the book and will only offer a future download.
They also stated that a new run in the New Year 'may' contain a complete CD

I emailed Carlton Books to complain about the CD, and I've had a reply from the web chap at QOL (on behalf of QPL and Carlton) in response to my email, and his reply gives me a link to download the FULL interview for free. He states that only now have they obtained the full interview and edited together.
Surely if you are releasing a CD and saying it contains a certain thing, it would be best to listen to the master tape and resulting pressed CD to ensure that it does actually contain what is expected?!!! I want a job proof checking Queen's releases from now on, because surely no-one is doing it at the moment?!!
His email carries no apology, but states that "we have been made aware that the BBC broadcast more of Tom Browne’s 1977 interview with the band than is available on the CD in the book". - What a load of BS!!! if they weren't actually aware that the interview was broadcast in two parts (even though this is common knowledge and been documented for years), why did the accompanying text in the book clearly give all the correct info about it?!!
Does anyone know if any official books or releases over the years have documented the 1977 interview being in two parts? If so, this would give clear proof that QPL have lied to me in their reply by saying that they are only now aware that this was how it was broadcast.
I'm not happy, because I have bough a product, sold as containing a certain product, which it does not. I don't want a download copy ("I don't have a home pc and cannot download from work") - do I have any legal recourse, other than return my book and get a refund?

How many of you bought the book through Amazon.com?
They have a very thoughtfull replacement policy, which I am not sure will fix the problem at hand. But they are very kind!

The interview (s) were broadcast on December 24th & December 26th 1977 respectively.
The opening introduction to the first part even says "a two part interview". Someone has fucked up (AGAIN!!!) and as usual no one wants to put it right.

Would you mind posting that entire email for us to read please, including the link? This kind of attitude should not be allowed to persist.
Thanks,

I get the feeling if they get enough complaints there may be a replacement CD after all.

Today my 'replacement' book will arrive! So I will have two of them! After complaining to Amazon.com customer service they offered to send a new copy free of charge and let me keep the other one with compliments!
Now I can frame the posters and memorabillia from one book and keep the other fully loaded. nice.
Still will not include a complete interview ofcourse, but i got that download link from the publishers so I am happy...for the moment.

Seriously... what do you expect them to do? they can refund you or send you a download, what else are you expecting to be entitled to? until they have a new cd to issue there is not much else they can do really, you can send you book back if you are that unhappy about it, but did you really only buy it for this cd? I dont think any business can offer more than a refund, you will not get compensation, it the same as going out to dinner and finding out they didnt serve you the wine you ordered... they will refund you.

Take in account that Amazon does not know ALL books have this problem and replacing a defective item is standard procedure of them. So it won't get more fair any which way you look at it unfortunatly.
