Here where i live we have PAL TV too, but... really there´s a great difference between 25 fps or 29.97 fps??? can the eye capt a diffrence of 4.97 frames per second??? anyway i always think that the PAL footage should be keeped as PAL and the NTCS as NTCS, so if the majory of the footage is PAL the dvd would be PAL...

From Queenonline.com:
“As the two documentaries worked so well, we resisted the idea of making an epic 3-hour ‘Extended Cut’. They are always boring, and as Freddie said to his manager Jim Beach in his last days: “Do anything you want with my music dear, but never make me boring!
“So rather than simply dump a load of ‘deleted scenes’ onto the DVD and Blu-Ray, Simon and I decided to edit them all with as much love, time and care as we put into the main documentary.

This makes a clear difference between de way these guys work and the policy from QP we have seen over the last few years.

It does however state the following: "Queen On Tour 1974-5: Featuring Queen at the Rainbow and unseen footage of the band touring Japan for the first time. Includes excerpts of ‘Now I’m Here’, ‘Killer Queen’ and ‘In The Lap Of The Gods’ live".
Is this part of what was initially going to be exclusive to Japan, or something different? Are the I Was Born To Love You and Teo Torriatte videos still exclusive to a Japanese release?
All Japanese pre order sites only have the uk Blu ray as an import and there is no specific Jpanese one to be seen; some sites even show the Japanese Blu Ray as being cancelled.
Can someone like GB or GT please confirm the situation regarding exactly what release will contain the extra Japanese material??! I want to get the release with the FULL content, and don;t want to buy the UK pne only to find it available in Japan a month later.
Here you go:
The Japanese DVD has an extra disc with the following content: Additional Bonus Feature (Japan only) Additional Videos - Teo Torriatte - (2005 promo video) I Was Born To Love You (2004 promo video) Queen in Japan - 1975 including - Press Conference - Japanese Tea Party - Live performances of Now I’m Here, Killer Queen and In The Lap of the Gods from the Budokan Queen in Japan - 1982 live performances at the Seibu Lions stadium of Love of My Life - Save Me - We Will Rock You Freddie Mercury - 65th Birthday Tribute Video.

Gary... I ask this before in another tread. The Japan 1982 footage comes from a copy of a laserdisc right??? (same as for the Milton Keynes bonus disc)

I agree.
All previous dvd releaes from Queen (GVH1 and 2, Wembley, Freddie Tribute, Montreal, Live at the Bowl...) have extras that didn't fit on one single disc, so they added a second disc. Why they didn't do the same with Days Of Our Lives dvd? This is just to make us buy a Blu-Ray player...and it's ironic because there's not much on Queen archives that would benefit from an proper HD release. Even Montreal Blu-Ray has the same extras as the dvd.
Although i'm happy that we're going to get something new from Queen, i'm very disappointed with this DVD/Blu-Ray extras war. Remember Universal is also a movie studio, so they want to push Blu-Ray sales. Some studios are doing this with home-cinema DVD/Blu-Ray releases already.

Agree with you post however.... at one point I see Blu Ray taken over the ordinary DVD players. Less discs and more GB capacity. So hopefully no more compressed Queen concerts in the future. This is indeed bad news for the people who don't have Blu Ray. But hell... save some money and you can buy a good Blu Ray player. Big advantage; Blu Ray players do play your old DVD's. I'd loved to see Budapest and the Rainbow released on Blu Ray in te future.

Oh man. I just watched the scrabble wars bit on QOL. Priceless. What a great video. Go see it! I have a question for GT. It's about the Freddie 65th anniversary video. In this video we see Freddie singing My melancholy blues. I believe this is the BBC version but i had never seen it. Did you guys find in the archives and was it only made available for the Freddie 65th anniversary video or does it exist in full and we will see it on the Blu-Ray.

What a great new footage to see. Thanks for upping. You can see Roger change of attitude when talking about Freddie and Roger's beloved memories about him. Man.... Roger must been a hell of a partyguy together with Freddie.

Great bonus material. Still I expected something more, but... better something than nothing at all! I expected they'd include much of the November Rainbow gigs, and it's such a pity they haven't added it on there. All in all, it's amazing anyway, methinks.

Hey Lostman, don't you think Qp will save that footage for a possible Blu Ray Rainbow release?

Thanks for the definitive info on the Japan release GT.
I am baffled as to why there is no Japanese release Blu Ray (all the Blu Ray editions available to order online are the standard International one on import). As a result, only the Japanese two disc DVD will have the exclusive material.
It could one of the following;
1) Blu Ray is not as big in Japan? (unlikely, and then why stock the import?), or 2) it's too expensive to manufacture two different Blu ray versions but not two different DVDs?, or 3) it's another scam so that if you want the interviews etc in HD you have to buy the Blu Ray, but if you want the extra Japanest footage (which many will) you have to buy the Japanese special edition two disc DVD too??
There was also a three disc DVD version listed online for pre order named "Directors cut Edition" but this is now shown as cancelled. Gary - can you say what was due to be on this??
Looks like the Japanese two disc version for me then - it has everything from the UK Blu Ray plus the extra Japanese 40 mins or so. Shame, cos I wanted the hi def stuff in the best possible quality.
