cmsdrums wrote: We have been told that the Japanese Blu ray will have more material still, yet this press release doesn't address that.
It does however state the following: "Queen On Tour 1974-5: Featuring Queen at the Rainbow and unseen footage of the band touring Japan for the first time. Includes excerpts of ‘Now I’m Here’, ‘Killer Queen’ and ‘In The Lap Of The Gods’ live".
Is this part of what was initially going to be exclusive to Japan, or something different? Are the I Was Born To Love You and Teo Torriatte videos still exclusive to a Japanese release?
All Japanese pre order sites only have the uk Blu ray as an import and there is no specific Jpanese one to be seen; some sites even show the Japanese Blu Ray as being cancelled.
Can someone like GB or GT please confirm the situation regarding exactly what release will contain the extra Japanese material??! I want to get the release with the FULL content, and don;t want to buy the UK pne only to find it available in Japan a month later.
Here you go:
The Japanese DVD has an extra disc with the following content: Additional Bonus Feature (Japan only) Additional Videos - Teo Torriatte - (2005 promo video) I Was Born To Love You (2004 promo video) Queen in Japan - 1975 including - Press Conference - Japanese Tea Party - Live performances of Now I’m Here, Killer Queen and In The Lap of the Gods from the Budokan Queen in Japan - 1982 live performances at the Seibu Lions stadium of Love of My Life - Save Me - We Will Rock You Freddie Mercury - 65th Birthday Tribute Video.
---------------------------------------- The disc with the main feature has the same extras has the worldwide single DVD?

Basically there is a massive market now to release extra materials on Blu-Ray as sales prove this, just purchase a cheap Blu-Ray player and enjoy the extras!

Assuming the features are the same, is there a difference in sound and picture quality between a cheap Blu Ray player and a supposedly better but more expensive one ? Or is the sound and picture dependent on the brand of TV regardless of which brand of player used ?

Get a blood Blu ray player and enjoy the extras! DVD's will go the way of the VHS in a few years.

I'd expect to get more features on the BluRay than the DVD. They're not forcing you to buy a BluRay player as someone mentioned earlier. They're offering more features on the BluRay, which is to be expected these days. I don't see what the issue is really.

It looks like the Japanese release has even more than the UK blu-ray. But what exactly is it? There are so many threads with conflicting information .. hard to keep up with it all.

I'll be waiting for press release with detailed information to confirm the Japanese release bonus content. ------------------------- GT says:

Queen in Japan - 1975 including - Press Conference - Japanese Tea Party - Live performances of Now I’m Here, Killer Queen and In The Lap of the Gods from the Budokan Queen in Japan - 1982 live performances at the Seibu Lions stadium of Love of My Life - Save Me - We Will Rock You Freddie Mercury - 65th Birthday Tribute Video. -------------------------
But the first disc on the DVD is the same as the UK/worldwide release? And the Japanese Blu-Ray is the same of UK/worldwide, plus Japanese extras?
My opinion: this confusion wouldn't happen with a double DVD with all the extras and a Blu-Ray with all the extras worldwide and without any region specific release/extras.

------------------------ No - from what I gather, there appears to be NO Japanese Blu Ray edition; they have only the UK Blu Ray on import. The extra 40 mins of Japan only footage is ONLY on the two disc DVD version in Japan, not on Blu Ray. GT's post confirms "DVD" only. Like the previous poster, I will wait to see some reports from purchasers to get definitive confirmations of content.

It is interesting me the next moment: Why in the documentary, or at least as bonus no nothing about participation Queen in the Festival Queen Rock in Rio 1985

I kinda lost interest when I noticed that the total runtime for all those extra videos combined is 24 minutes.
