Since they've said the live albums will be re-released this year, this is my prediction:
-Live Killers expanded, with proper liner notes, and bonus tracks from Paris/London 79
-Live Magic expanded - full Knebworth
-Hammersmith 75 DVD
I'd be happy with that. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

My tip :
Live Killers with bonus tracks from let's say Frankfurt, + 2 DVDs containing bits of Rainbow 74, Hammersmith Odeon 75, Paris, Tokyo 79
Live Killers - bonus CD with missing tracks from Knebworth, 2 DVDs with all what they have from all Magic shows including Budapest and Knebworth

Ok, that'd be pretty good but:
Why not release London'79 (Hammy) on its own? That show is beyond amazing...

Realistically speaking, these live albums are going to get the same treatment as the studio albums.
That means 5 alternate live versions of the biggest hits, and a whole lot of disappointed fans for each release.

Sorry pittrek but that is too much idealist... i think the reality will be a bit different...
i´d wish they released something like what bob says... or at least i´d wish that they released something, even a re-edition of the live albums with a bonus disc with only 5 live songs, like the past year would be good (better than nothing i guess)
The possible reality:
* Live Killers (re-re-re-mastered) + bonus disc with:
-If tou can´t beat them
-Fat Bottomed Girls
-Complete Mustapha
-It´s late
-Whatever
* Live magic (re-re-re-mastered) + bonus disc with:
something similar... maybe and unedited version of Bohemian rhapsody, etc
What i want:
* Live Killers (remastered and remixed) + A dvd with footage from the nights recorded (paris, munich, etc), even a "compile" dvd would be good + Hammersmith 1979 dvd/bluray
* Live Magic (remastered and remixed) + a dvd with compile rare footage of the whole tour, much from Knebworth 86 + Budapest 86 dvd/bluray
* Hammersmith 1975 dvd with Hyde park 76 as bonus dvd

Really i don´t want too much from the Magic Tour but as they said this year is of live re-releases we will get some from that tour...

Don't know if anyone saw this but according to queenonline an admin has dropped a huge hint that Knebworth is to get a release sometime this year.

This came from one of the mods on QOL:
"I guess they're kind of caught in a quandary, they know there's loads of stuff in the archive that "could" get put out. The problem they have is that the stuff that's already been released is "off the peg" ready to go, (or needs minimal tweaking), and most of the stuff we would like to see needs at least some degree of restoration work, and that takes time and money.
The best that I think we can hope for, is that we get a few previously unreleased bits that we're hoping for, dropped in between the stuff I think we ALL realise is probably coming."

Queen today = least effort for biggest profit.

The quote of "the problem they have is that the stuff that's already been released is "off the peg" ready to go, (or needs minimal tweaking), and most of the stuff we would like to see needs at least some degree of restoration work, and that takes time and money" just about sums them up:
- was it a "problem" to record ANATO, or Queen II or Made In Heaven?? No - it was a challenge, and a musically viable and legitimate exercise and piece of art in each instance. If they saw these as things that simply weren't worth the hassle as they'd take a bit of time then nothing would ever come out. If they'd started work when everyone started talking about these things they could have done most of it already, and (although it should never be about money for a band as rich as them) recouped a great deal of any outlay if they did it right too.
I'm resigned to never seeing anything decent come out of the Queen camp again :-(

Hence my post on page 1. Those three releases would take minimal work on their part.
Let's face it - Brian and Roger don't really care about releasing new things. They want Queen to be known 100 years from now. The material that will achieve that feat has already been released.

So they're gonna release it again, just in case...

Pretty much.
That said, they did work on the documentary last year, and the complete first night at Wembley came out. Lots of new material in the bonus tracks on the remasters too.
It's not like they have completely ignored the back catalogue. If and when the boxed set comes out, I guarantee, people will be complaining because it was only 10 discs and not 12.

I think that it should be made clear that the above quote is from someone who has NOTHING to do with QPL.

I hope it is Knebworth 1986 and not the impending Knebworth 2012 with AL.
