Pretty much.
That said, they did work on the documentary last year, and the complete first night at Wembley came out. Lots of new material in the bonus tracks on the remasters too.
It's not like they have completely ignored the back catalogue. If and when the boxed set comes out, I guarantee, people will be complaining because it was only 10 discs and not 12.[/QUOTE]
People ALWAYS will complain... much more if that people is a Queen fan...
I think a show like Hamm 79 is more representative about QUEEN -and ROCK in general- than wembley 86... but for some strange reason we have wembley about 10 times (lp,cassete, dvd, radio,tv,laser disc,cd,dvd again,cd again) and Hamm only 1/2...

Just cause the quote came from no one inside QPL doesn't mean it can't be true.

Well it IS true, but there isn't anything we hadn't already gathered over the years by looking at the releases
In the oh-so-typical, roundabout way of the writer it reads
"They have stuff in the archive, but they are not willing to do the work to release it. Instead we get re-releases of the old material."

So in other words, all of Queen's master tapes could be resting in a room with a strong magnetic field. I'm not part of QP and I'm suggesting it, so we shouldn't rule it out..
That kind of logic completely disregards the entire purpose of discussion, since anything including pigs flying is possible. If we're trying to gather notes about QP's thoughts on releasing archival material, it's best we stick to things they're actually saying and doing rather than comparing them to unrelated quotes from people they don't associate with.
It's obvious they realize the greatest hits will be their legacy, but it's not like they have completely ignored their archives (especially last year), like I mentioned above.
Compare the latest Queen remasters to the Chicago and Elton John remasters, for instance. Queen's had a lot more bonus tracks. About the same as the Rhino remasters of the Yes back catalog.
Just my two cents.

Agree with your thoughts but...
the queenonline moderator is someone who generally has great inside info:-) For example: a long time before QRM got released he hinted about it... Also, he hinted strongly that Hyde Park might get - and actually should have had by now - a release so maybe there's some truth in his words. Hyde Park (or Hamy '75) might be something new among rereleases:-)

on my way up. Would you happen to have the exact quote regarding Hyde Park please?

I only ever visit this website to listen to twats. I put it to you that Freddie once sang twinkle twinkle little star dressed as elvis with an egg on his head. You cannot disprove this so it must be true and the footage will definitely be on an 'anthology' that has been spoken about for 20 years now.
The onus of proof is on you..
Carry on...

I don't think I can find it again...It was quite a long time ago but from what I gathered multi track tapes in great quality DO exist (as the 2011 exhibition confirmed) and - also from what I gathered - ALL work had been done to it. It should be ready for release...

We're never going to get any 70's concert releases, simply because Brian would like the public to think he's never done drugs, when he's clearly stoned out of his mind in most of the early 70's shows ;)
