Fred struggled with vocals at times for varying reasons but he never lacked for energy in his performances.[/QUOTE]
Yup, nobody can deny that.

Why would this be considered snubbing Paul Rodgers? Both camps officially released statements confirming the end of their '5 year' relationship but left a "maybe" at the end... which is what you would ALWAYS do.
Besides, they're really snubbing Tim Staffel.

I remember reading something about Queen(+) being the band where Paul Rodgers had spent more time without breaking up in his whole career. Anybody remember that?
Cheers,

I seem to remember Paul commenting on this during the second Q+PR tour. However, his memory must have been playing tricks, as Q+PR only lasted 5 years (2004-2009) whereas his original stint with Bad Company ran from 1973-1982.

I do believe Paul was snubbed. Not too long ago he said he would be open for a "one off" and this is precisely it. Recruiting Adam Lambert does seem to me like a slap on Paul's face.
Don't get me wrong, I get excited at the possibility of Brian and Roger performing as Queen, even if it is with Adam Lambert.
However, to me the Q+PR project had way more credibility.
We're talking about the guy that brought Brian and Roger into touring and recording a brand new Queen album. It was a huge deal back in 2004. I will always be grateful to Paul for this as it was my opportunity to see my idols play live.

Paul Rodgers never fit the Queen image... AT LEAST Adam Lambert sort of does... no not just because he's a flamboyantly gay singer... but because he has a voice that suits Queen songs + he has stage power AND he's a flamboyantly gay singer.
So not that I approve. But I do approve over Paul Rogers, even though I respect Paul Rogers as a singer WAY more than I do Adam Lambert. Paul Rogers should be with bands that have a blues-based sound much like Free and Bad Company. If Mick Jagger died in the 80s... I would love to hear the Rolling Stones fronted by Paul Rogers in 2012. I'm sure he'd do a great job with most if not all of their pre-83 stuff.
But the Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger is like Queen without Freddie Mercury --> it would never work... (hmmmm....)

Can he even still sing or perform? That would be interesting to see...

In a documentary, "Freddie Mercury - The Untold Story" or something, there was a recent interview with him, and he played and sang a portion of Earth. His voice sounded completely different to how it did in Smile, it was all raspy and much more limited in range. I guess that can be expected...

Just for you Jimmy Dean, Here is Paul with Free (mkII - No Paul Kossoff or Andy Fraser) covering Hony Tonk Woman. in my opinion, this is rubbish for two reasons - 1 the sound guy has the keyboard players mic up waaaayyyyy too much and 2 Paul doesnt look at all comfortable doing lead guitar amd singing at the same time

paul Rodgers hasnt been snubbed. theyve chosen to work with someone different.
during the Queen+PR tour their was some friction between the three of them and at one point Jef Scott Soto was on standby incase Paul Rodgers walked.
as has been pointed out, Paul Rodgers doesnt really like being in a band where he doesnt have control. look at his history, none of the bands he has been a member of turned out to have much longevity. he has been a solo artist for far longer.
Brian, on his site a few years ago said that when Queen+PR were touring south America they decided that in order to save their friendship enough was enough.
yes both sides have said the door is always open. But both sides have to agree on certain things in order to walk through that door. i dont think it will ever happen.
Brian and Paul are still friends, BM has name cheched him a couple of times on his site over the last year, but as far as performing goes, Queen have moved on. remember no one is freddies replacment.

It was fun while it lasted. I guess the chemistry (on and off stage) was gone after 5 years.

Sorry - "save their friendship"? Where did he write it on his site?
