Brian & Roger want to know which songs we'd like

I'd love to hear the reaction from Brian and Roger if we all flooded their inbox with a request for STAYING POWER :-)

I'm not putting the song down... I love it... but I'm pretty sure it's not one they hold dear to them.

I hope they will not skip The Cosmos Rocks. It has some really nice songs which worked well live. For instance Cosmos Rocking would be nice. Or Small or Things that Glitter.

Honestly? It's nice that Bri and Rog are acknowledging the fans, but I'm kinda losing faith. Besides, if they take the real fans' requests on board, no-one will know the tracks. Let me list the tracks the general public know: DMSN, DMSN, DMSN, IWBTF (maybe), WWRY, WATC, AOBTD (m-a-y-b-e), CLTCL (Heaven hopes they do) and DMSN. I'm usually not this cynical, and I don't hate Don't Stop Me Now per se... it's just that Queen HAVE other songs, you know. But whenever you ask someone to name a Queen track, it's the first one anyone names.

Don't mean to be too cynical but I'd only note that I don't think they petitioned fans for ideas for the Rodgers fronted tours. And no, I don't think it's because Lambert is so wildly versatile that their bounty overfloweth with confusing choice. It's more of the Talenthouse, Queen Extravaganza, 'Have You Seen WWRY Hundreds of Times? Let Us Know!' etc. get-fans-involved mechanisms that boil down to marketing and not much else. It really ramped up with the switch to Universal, and I recall Brian noting the company's "all kinds of new ideas". I think this would be one of them, or the offspring of one of them. No harm in it of course but it does add to the manufactured feel of the whole thing.

I think people need to remember that Sonisphere is a Metal/Hard Rock festival, the only obscure songs played will be the heavier ones IMO.

I think CMS drums has pretty much covered my response, although sadly it's painfull clear from past experience that they'll happily play 'obscurities' to non-Queen fans, but we get the usual shit.

Fuck me.....not only is it going to be a karaoke show, but it's a karaoke by request show. What a complete and utter load of bollocks; must be the dementia setting in.
