Do you think file sharin forums can survive without downloaders? Yeah, we eat and run. What would you have us do?
Why bash the downloaders? This site has such a huge number of members who just download and don't share...some of us are content with what they get and post a "thanks", some don't post but are probably grateful for the shares. Then there are those who keep demanding more and more. This last group is surely the smallest in proportion, and their attitude can be termed as immaurity or unawareness of the "collection process".
I know I'm probably going slightly off topic here, but what would be REALLY nice is if, when those who only take and never give back, actually decided that the next time they go to a Queen related gig, they will take a recorder in with them (doesn't matter if it's audio or video) and record as much as they possibly can and then share it with everyone as a "thank you" for all the stuff they've downloaded.
Sadly it doesn't seem to work that way with Queen fans.
Infact Queen fans seem to be the only people these days who will NOT get together as a group to film concerts from various angles and then edit them together to share with the fan base.

I would if I could. I was a 5 y.o. in 1986. I can't do it now, becos I don's live in the west. There is very little chance that they'll tour anywhere near my place of residence (Mumbai, India).
OK this is only my situation, and I can't speak for the others "who only take and never give back". So my personal message to the sharers is - if u do share, I am greatful to you. If you don't share, so be it. But don't make out yourselves to be Jesus of the queen fans.

However, I feel that it is not necessary to fling the last line of your post "But don't make yourselves to be Jesus of queen fans." to those who have shared. Put yourself in their shoes, how would you feel when you share the shows, spend time to upload to a file sharing site and/or torrent it for others to download and enjoy, and someone says things like that ?
Most of the people here (sharers and seeders) do things here out of interest and goodwill without expecting thanks but they do not expect unkind words. Like the saying goes, with friends like that, who need enemies ?

well,
i've been suspecting that young man fuller being an ignorant dumbhead for quite some time now ... hopefully everyone can see clearly now.

@tcc - if u consider my post to be insulting, then i did not start it. it was started by those who called me a beggar, one who "eats and runs", "who only take and never give back", etc.
if u read my intital post, you will find that i do respect the collectors. I also acknowledge the efforts in time and money they take to build the record collection, and then share it with us knowing fully well it will become worthless in the collector's world after that.

Despite Mr Fullers recent behavior, as I've already stated a few times now, the whole point of the group was to collate a definitive archive of unnofficial material that could be shared once complete.
Some people might think I'm an arsehole for asking this, but why should we believe that? Why should we believe that such a compilation would be released all at once, if you (they) weren't ready to release it as smaller segments over a longer period of time?
I get it that you (they) would have preferred who and when gets to hear this material, but it just sounds more plausible that this was never going to be available to the wider audience.

John, some people just don't understand the concept of putting to practice PATIENCE. They want it all, and they want it NOW.
I can understand now in this context the reason why Fanthology was meant to be kept a secret until the end of the project's completion...the less people know, the faster things would get accomplished, the better.

You all keep saying this project was a secret but I remember reading about the idea of doing what you were doing when it was first discussed in the serious forum years ago. I think it is a worthwhile project and I can imagine that it has already taken up many hours of work. But just because a person let you down, there is no reason to get discouraged. Live and learn, remember your original goals and continue the project. Now you know that DRF is not going to be someone you trust so in order to move on you need to fill the slot of "video expert" with someone you can trust and be happy with and someone who also wants to work on the project with you. So it is really an opportunity for you to pick a new person with the skills you need to join your group. You can still be a secret group (shhhh ... we won't talk about it or even mention it until you surprise us with your releases).

"have a re-read of all the trolls who have accused us of "5th Queen members""
I dunno about anyone else, but when I said that, it was aimed solely at Fuller. Not really my problem if your comprehension skills haven't gotten any better since 1970.
