"Jesus to Queen fans" was used by me, like i already stated...only for those who started name calling the downloaders. Otherwise I fully respect collecters and the sharers.
The incident at hand is essentially a case of betrayal within the so far secretive collector/collator's group. So why indulge in degrading downloaders?

Just to clarify, I was not trying to recommend myself for the group. Ha. That would be funny. I can't even figure out my new video editing software after switching from a really old PC computer to an iMac. I haven't taken the time but I will have to learn this stuff eventually. Also my internet is a problem because I live too far from the high speed infrastructure. I could be in the middle of uploading Hangman to Rapidshare and lose my signal.
Anyway, I'm glad that the group is together and still able to function after this upsetting episode.

Sorry still travelling. My point is rather than wait for a deluxe product, you are happy downloading crap and think it's a victory. Then you shoot the guys behind the scenes for coming up with the idea and for not being quick enough in delivery.
I really don't get this place. I really don't.
Maybe you'll get it if you try to look at this from a perspective of an outsider (who hasn't downloaded any of the material in question)...
All we know for certain is that the fanthology hasn't released anything so far, and there has been no announcements or hints to release anything either.
At best you're coming off as a amateurs like Queen Productions whose upcoming releases are only annouced after the information has been leaked, and at worst you look like an incestious group of traders who are merely trying to save their public image.

That's a fair enough assumption to make and my reply to that is a simple one:
As far as the video archive is concerned, I have about 150 tapes that still need capturing and there are a few other peoples collections that I still need to get hold of.
Once a reasonable amount of it has been collated, all of the duplicate items need checking and comparing to see which is the best video quality, audio quality, are they complete, do I need to use a few different sources to get the best, most complete version...
The last thing we want to do is create something that then needs an upgrade a month or two later when another tape comes in.
Of course, there has to be a line drawn somewhere otherwise nothing would ever get released and as it happens one particular collection has been completed and this is what will be released in May.
It was always intended for May release, but after the events of the last few days and the expectency of comments like yours, it was felt we may as well make an announcement about it now rather than just posting it anonymously.
Some of you will believe that, some of you won't.
The fact is that even though the groups existence is now known, we still don't need to post anything if we don't want to, but the intention was always to do so.
As for the rarities though: you don't release your Crown Jewels first.
Like I commented in another thread somewhere, there is never a point where the collection is complete from a traders point of view... It's a contradiction of terms to say that a group of traders are going to release it ALL for the public. That would make any further trades impossible, wouldn't it?
The biggest problem with QP is their lack of communication, and I have to say that you haven't been doing much better in that respect.
There's no need for complete lists of recordings or a release date, but it's nice to know general information like "we're working on xxx and we are trying very hard to release something next year". That's what keeps people interested and waiting.

PATIENCE - Waiting 20 years to hear unreleased demos and live footage, but having to wait another 10 to find out you need to waita little longer.
See the problem is Brian and Roger (and to some extent Greg Brooks) have told us that there's really not a whole lot left in the "Rare" folder on the Queen Laptop. Now we find out there's a secret society trading rare and unheard tracks. I became a fan in '78. The reality is that I will be long dead before anything of substance gets released. Apparently this "project" is being aimed at the next generation of Queen fans. Who's idea was this? We should be disappointed the Queen + Adam Lambert thing didn't work out.... because when these tracks finally do get released, the 50 year old Adam Lambert fans won't even remember who Queen is, let alone Hangman Acetate.
I mean really, when was the last time you got excited about a rare Righteous Brothers outtake?

"Oh come on; play fair - you should know better"
Sure, but you should slow down and read things through a bit more, is all I was saying. It's pretty clear that the only one I'm genuinely annoyed at here is Fuller.
I think the Collector business model is outdated and has to change if you guys really want to stay both relevant and happy, but personally I don't have any problem with you all. You might be more careful in choosing who you deal with though.

I fully agree. But unless everyone involved agrees, it isn't going to change.

Well that's a People problem, not a Collector one. :P

I used to be the so called "hero" years ago.. putting stuff here that was given to me in order to swear not to leak it out..
I kinda understand both sides. It's good to give a poke to people who try to avoid sharing anything unique to the rest, but on the other hand, THOSE people had to dig deep to get it too and treasure that search.
I agree the circle of elite collecting has to break at some point. But not how this is going.
A promise is a promise.. and people should learn to stick to that.

Clearly I missed something here. I don't know what the argument is about or who broke what promise. Hell I can't even tell without downloading it whether this material is Queen related or not. At the risk of displaying my ignorance, who or what are "The Reaction"?
I have to say the thing that disappoints me about this is seeing such bitterness on Queenzone, from both sides of the argument. This is supposed to be a nice place to share unofficial Queen stuff.

The Reaction were a pre-Queen band that had Roger Taylor on drums and lead vocals. They were essentially a cover band.
These acetates, some songs on which also featured a singer named Johnny Quale, are of significance as they represent the few known recordings made before Queen were formed.
Don't expect them to be up to the later standard of Queen though. They're OK, but to an average joe they would sound like any garage cover band from the 60's.

Thank you Dave. You have made some wonderful Queen stuff available to us not so rich fans. I always watch your you-tube channel. What the 'elite' do not realise that a lot of us genuine Queen fans cannot afford to buy the rare stuff (food on the table, insurance bills, medical bills, kids' expenses, you get it..), and this is the only way we have any access to it. Thank you for not hiding these gems from us.

It really isn't a gem, though. Aside from that one hilarious track of Roger singing James Brown, it's more like a burlap sack full of dried up old turds.
Now I remember when "You Are The Only One" showed up on the forum. Call me sentimental but I thought that was a beautiful demo. Too bad it never got finished up.
