All jokes aside, and really giving him the benefit of the doubt - I will wait and see how the shows turn out.
I just hope they're better than the mess he made last time, because that's what it was.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. There are lots of great singers in this big world. Why o why would Roger and Brian choose AL? I am simple enough to not understand it. His entire persona is annoying at best, he is all about himself from what I see and I dislike his style/voice. Ok, all my personal opinions but if he actually forgot their names!? I guess people will pay to see Brian and Roger no matter who sings with them. I would like an answer to my question from those of you who've been around a while and who may know. Thanks.
1) don't talk between songs
Yes, absolutely don't build any rapport with the people who PAID MONEY to see you. And Freddie never did either.
2) don't oversing
Yes, there is no longer any "over-singing" even though Freddie did it live AND in the studio countless times. Just kinda muffle the words to Bohemian Rhapsody and sound disinterested.
3) play down the american accent while singing
Absolutely. Try a different world accent every night. I'd start off with Afrikaans and end with a Chinese Mandarin accent. Even on Teo Toriatte.
4) don't have your hair standing up
Because we all know hairstyle makes or breaks a concert.
5) don't wear a leather trenchcoat
Actually I would encourage the leather trenchcoat and absolutely nothing else underneath. And start off the show with "Flash!"

Forget these stupid ground rules. Just let him and the band do what they're going to do..
your opinion is no more or less valid than the person posting the "rules"...so who ARE YOU to say "forget em"? if anything it needs a few more rules....
9. lose your voice day before first gig until day after last gig
I think it will be a more interesting show and set list than Paul Rodgers was willing to involve himself with.
yes, more interesting, but still not good....in fact a "different kind of sh*t"
Point taken, but what I'm saying is let him live or die by his performance on the night. You can't give people ground rules by which to perform. Isn't that like telling Micheal Angelo he can't use blue, red and white and don't paint people. Artists of any type create from within, not from being told what they can or can't do

for once VC i absolutely agreed with you...well your first two sentences
...then you used "Michael Angelo" as an analogy....and at that point you blew it!!!
because anyone who can use one of the finest renaissance sculpture (and latterly) artist as a comparator to a f**king reality TV show winner, loses ALL credibility for their argument by so doing....pity also, as you were doing well with your first two sentences

Wow comparing AL to Michelangelo ... What are you smoking ?
I agree with the "let's wait to see how it turns out" point, but if they can manage to turn the MTV Awards monstruosity into a compelling performance after only two weeks of rehearsal AND offer a exciting setlist (meaning including Freddie's 70's gems, just the way QE does), I'll be happy to put a foot in my mouth
But I won't

In other words, give him enough rope to hang himself? ;-)
I wonder how many are attending the show primarily because of Queen, and how many because of AL. I have a friend from Florida who's a huge AL fan and she's going just to see AL.

Christ, they're in for a shock when they see their hero completely out of his depth and struggling to hit any notes. However, they'll probably still insist he was fantastic.

he could do the honourable thing...and fall on his sword...or better still take up sword swallowing...one slip across his vocal chords and no-one has to endure his catterwawling screams again

I here ya. BUT, there IS one part of the analogy that sorta works.
They're both gay.
Only Michelangelo Buonarotti was romantically gay, while Adam Lambert is likely lustfully gay.
Michelangelo had incredible talent...even if his female sculpted forms looked like brute, powerful naked men....
..And Adam...has debateable talent... I think his would be described as "natural talent" (vocal range) the rest...well, just my opinion..but I don't like anything he's done solo...at all.

Quit all your WHINING people... And just be Happy that Brian and Roger are still out there Rockin' and entertaining the masses, and keeping QUEEN relevant in people's lives today... I think Adam is a Great choice to pull this off... Or do you think they should go with the AI Winner Kris Allen... I am very lucky to have seen QUEEN with Freddie over twenty times... Freddie is Gone... The Glory years will never return... Just be Happy you still have something... If they come to America with Adam I will be the first on line for tickets... BTW, I have 4th row tickets for QUEEN EXTRAVAGANZA friday night... I'm not expecting anything more than what it is... NO Freddie Holograms... And I hear they're doing "March of the Black Queen"... SWEET!!!
