Is there pro-shot footage of Led Zep's O2 reunion show?

Didn't this get shown in cinemas a week or two after Hungarian Rhapsody? I'm sure there was some sort of Zep thing on at cinemas, and talk of an official release of it.

I hope they've been light on the overdubs. A lot of what I've heard of the gig was fine. Kashmir was pretty cooking, as far as I recall.

Don't eat them yet Bob lol, I'm not actually sure if it WAS the 02 show that went out at cinemas. Would be pretty awesome if it did get a release though.....

I always thought it'd be Plant holding it up. The bastard.[/QUOTE]
absoluitely
in fact quote from Jimmy Page (Mojo - dec 2012 issue) re a possible tour or record:
"well if jason, john paul jones and i were playing afterwards then, sure, we were willing to go beyond the element of the O2. But we couldn't do anything that was a led zeppelin reunion unless the singer was there. quite clearly we're there, but he's not, so what's the point of playing games with it?"
and:-
"hey listen, if i was going out on my own i'd do led zeppelin material, but i'd do yardbirds too, but if we had come up with some kind of conccotion with the three remaining members we wouldn't call it led zeppelin would we?"

there's also a certain reverence and respect in that last sentence. commendable

btw - whoever said try "Kashmir" (unledded) - thanks. much as i love the original
this version blew me away....esp the "Rock n Roll" ending, but the whole
arrangement is inspiring, uplifting, imagination fuelling and above all - beautifully performed

june 21 1977 - la forum

I've always dug Plant's singing from 79-80. I've heard Zeppelin fans whinging that he was losing his voice, and he probably was, but I reckon it added something. At Knebworth he really has to give it the beans to hit some of those notes, and it sounds the way rock'n'roll should sound.

The best audience tape ever made of any band. Non-negotiable.

Absolutely. The taper's name is Mike Millard. He pretended to be handicapped so that he'd be guaranteed front row centre at every show he taped. Nobody would dare search the handicapped guy for taping gear, right .. ?!

His Zeppelin, Yes, Stones and Floyd tapes are amongst the very best audience recordings of the 1970s. He committed suicide in 1990, and his masters are still in his room to this day. His mother won't let anyone near the room.
