additional questions re: celebration day
1. is the dvd the full concert?
2. can the dvd be bought separately?[/QUOTE]
1. I'd say 99.9% full. There is some banter missing between songs, and a small part of Dazed And Confused was snipped because the band almost trainwrecked the song.
2. Separately from the cds, you mean?

yes to [2] above

No idea. I thought it was just a blu-ray release.
I saw it in the theatre so I'm not keen to buy it yet... haven't researched. Check Amazon or something.

just bought the double cd/dvd pack today
early thoughts? wow!
correction. fucking wow!!!
gonna play through dvd again a second time now for a more in-depth appraisal
but "ramble on" "good times bad times" "kashmir" and "no quarter" are quite incredible
think the "failings" in plants voice add something to the performance - almost like giving it a bit more character and charm

Sent away for mine, I'm too lazy to do the retail thing. From the previews I've seen, it seems mostly undoctored, which makes me happy.

i think they didn't do many dubs on it - as with it being a one-off there were no other shows to get better "takes"
- so correction would've required lots of studio time
looks and sounds like a real show....and there's lots of interaction and smiling going on, all very comfortable around each other
- it's actually really nice to see. and they all look natural, no theatrics, no showboating
-just doing it and enjoying it
mind you, Page's facial gurning makes him look like a cross between Keith Richards and a Bulldog

Finally got down with some headphones to watch the show.
Man, there are women in my life who haven't given me this good of an evening.

This is the only item I listed in my In-law families elfster wish site. I hope they take the hint & set out to buy this & only this. No improv buying allowed! Can't wait to watch om my in-law's 65" Sony with full surround sound in the man cave! I'm taking a 6 pack with me, locking the door & smokin a bone! See ya when I see ya!
Other than watching my 3 year old daughter open gifts on Christmas morning, it will probably be the best part of my trip!

Pretty odd that I chose to start this topic only a matter of weeks before the official release was announced. I bought the DVD/CD today. The main menu alone gave me chills. Why can't Queen have releases with this sort of quality?

"Why can't Queen have releases with this sort of quality?"
What are you talking about? I love how half of the videos on Greatest Hits 2 are squished into the wrong aspect ratios.
It has character.

i wasn't aware that Queen used "ANY" aspect ratios on their GH videos....thought they went for a "random" dimensions option
....my dvd player certainly thinks so, it even jumps between aspects within songs
i'm fucking surprised that the visible screen doesn't go triangle or hexagonal ...cos they use practically every shape but oblong

just bumped this thread - after finding this
- i know it's 3 yrs old, but love it
harmonica, guitar and drums are excellent...and a good driving bass under it all
