and your ears have no quality control filter? there was nothing to chalk up as quality about a 44yr old solo and WWRY for the gazzillionth time.....
at least the Who showed queen how to do it
It was a 44 year old solo to longtime Queen fans. To most of the audience (and me) it was new. I liked it!

Also, you don't really hear guitar solos in current music anymore (more's the pity) so it was a novelty in that way too.

I realize what I just said regarding having G.M. sing with them. NO! Bad idea!

I was wondering why you'd want Gary Mullen to sing with them... ;-)

I really was glad to see Brian get so much screen time in the end. In amongst all of that trash, it was good to see someone just playing a guitar. The way it should be.
Amen! It was wonderful to watch and listen.

Say! I like new Queen +! I do!

And I would listen to them in a boat.
And I would listen to them with a goat…
and I will listen to them in the rain.
And in the dark.
And on a train.
And in a car. And in a tree.
They are so good,so good, you see!

So I will listen to them in a box.
And I will listen to them with a fox.
And I will listen to them in a house.
And I will listen to them with a mouse.
And I will listen to them here and there.

Say! I will listen to them ANYWHERE!
I do so like Queen +!
Thank you! Thank you, Moan-I-am!

Seb I am surprised you prefer to see the same boring topics over and over, I thought you were more interested in proper debate?
'Who made you forum ruler?' is not the same as 'I prefer to see the same boring topics over and over.'

There are many topics here that aren't interesting at all. The solution is ignoring them, rather than moaning about how other people moan, or trying to persuade them to talk about something else.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

you're saying modern rock bands don't do guitar solos? whaat do they do in the middle-eight then? lead electric triangle solos? tambourine solos? stylophone solos?

you're so wrong about that...listening to planet rock now and all the recent songs played on there since teatime have had guitar solos

as for live solos? Lifeson, Gilmour, Angus, and more besides are still doing live solos...and at least they change theirs a little down the years....even Angus

and Ritchie Blackmore's solos have dramatically chnaged since he left purple in 92 :-)

Oh OK. Most of the modern stuff that I listen to (as in newish bands, not older bands that are still playing) are alt. rock (or whatever you'd classify bands like Blue October, OneRepublic, The Fray) and I don't often (if ever) hear guitar solos from them.

Brian and Roger are keeping Queen relevant, whether people like it or not.Ive been a Queen fan since the seventies, and i miss Freddie like crazy, still, but Brian and Roger wrote a hell of a lot of the Queen catalogue,so who gives anybody the right to dictate what they do,or dont do with their own songs,if u dont like what they do now, dont listen.Ill bet everyone who moans on here still go and buy everything that gets released, they will be first in the queue to buy The Queen & Adam Lambert Blu Ray,or the next Greatest Hits package.Queen will continue to be popular because they perform with people like Jessie J,because a portion of her fans will buy GREATEST HITS 1 or 2.Freddies legacy lives on because of the hard work Brian May & Roger Taylor continue to do,like it or not.Thanks...

Damn, if they got John Lennon to sing with Queen, and Freddie to sing with the Beatles, I'd be pleased.

However there will always be people that don't like something, and therefore they have the right to complain.
Any way the wind blows...

This thread is yet another attempt by small minded people to close down a conversation or suppress a point of view they don't like.

Brian and Roger are doing a fine job of staying around and keeping the music somewhat alive, what they're forgetting is that popular art belongs to the fans because the fans are the ones who made it popular in the first place. If a significant portion of the fans are greatly unhappy with some of the things they are doing with the art, then there is a problem that needs to be adressed.

The irronie is most who do were not even alive when Freddie was so they have no real knowledge of what it was to be a Queen fan in the 70's or 80's as the band grew.

LOL, a lot of the people who complain about Queen are experience Queen fans.

PS: that's a very creative way to spell irony.

Queenmoan is actually the sound first invented by Brian. Queen fans cannot reproduce this sound exactly even with similar equipment and lots of practice.

To put it lightly, it was hot. Very hot. I'd stand her vibratos any time.
