This is purely my view.
When freddie came on the screens warming up the crowd i was anticipating something well how else to say brilliant, only to be let down with Jessie J coming out and ruining a classic.
Why couldn't do like the current michael jackson tour and use holograms....

The “hologram” thing wouldn't have worked there.
It's a projection on to Perspex, the audience have to be facing the stage straight on for it to look 3D, here the audience surrounded the performers, so for most people it would look like a distored freddie projected onto a glass window, and those that the sides would see nothing.
The other thing is that the only full body footage of Freddie filmed with a single camera facing forwards is bits of i was born to love you, these are the days of our lives, and Barcelona.

I thought that it was a very exciting and fitting presentation for the occasion. I am usually surprised by how much more entertaining they are compared to anything I can imagine beforehand. And given the time limit I think they made a big impression. I am not familiar with Jessie J but I thought she did well and obviously had the right spirit to carry it off.
I agree with Donna
I agree with Donna too!

Scientifically, from this thread, 75% of people in the world were OK with it.
The other 25% can bitch and moan all they want.
Here's an idea, krueger8... How about CHANGING THE CHANNEL??!?!?! I'msure there was a couple of Dora The Explorer re-runs going, you could have watched that instead and not been upset.
Is it possible we could create 17 more threads about the same subject?

sigh, ditto
I was really disappointed that We Are The Champions was'nt played. It should have been the very last song played IMO. It would have been fantastic way to finish the games off.
My theory as to why it wasn't played?.......political correctness??? you can't sing a line saying "no time for losers" when that's exactly what the vast majority of competitors were??? :-P

Yes I thought Jessie J did a Great Job and I also feel that 'We are The champions' shouldve been the Finale not 'My Generation' from The Who having said that I did enjoy The Who's Performance
I dont mean to upset anyone at all but I have heard Brian Play better! a bit of Chinese Torture wouldve been nice but I guess you cant have everything perfect with the Sound on the Night! I liked the Show

I thought the performance was "interesting". Nothing less, nothing more.
But I had from time to time the feeling that Kim Jong Il is on the drums :-)

no !! now bog off and carry on living in the past
Was anyone else disappointed with this thread?
I was.
When I started watching it, I knew that they were going to use some pop singer I'd never heard of and the only time I'd ever heard her was about an hour earlier in the closing ceremony. That said, I was actually mildly impressed (amazing how everything seems better when you lower your expectations!) For the most part, she just stuck with what she was supposed to do and didn't overdo anything. Brian was pretty much in the spotlight the entire time; Jessie didn't try to upstage him. She actually respected the music somewhat.
They are only slightly similar. Nothing uncanny...
It is rather silly.
