His solo stuff will be released as a compilation and probable box set at some time this year.
I don't think The Cross stuff will be included at this point, maybe on another collection.
A new studio album will also follow.
Regards.

Do we know why Roger didn't release his solo album as originally planned in 2012?
Thanks for the info, much appreciated
Interesting, so just to clarify.
GT is saying that at "some time this year" RT's solo stuff will be released as a compilation - do you mean like a Best Of?
And also a probable box set of his 4 solo albums.
And then "a new studio album will follow"?
So that means the new album we were originally expecting in November 2012 is now delayed until AFTER his old stuff has been re-released?

yes, but that "could" still be soon
the entire zep catalogue was remastered by Page in relatively short time
so FOUR albums might not take long at all

Gotta laugh at this shit. So we'll get a compilation of Roger Taylor solo songs that any fan already has, which then might be followed up by some kind of boxset then new material? I'm going to take a wild guess and say the compilation sells fuck all. What is it with anyone connected to QPL having no clue whatsoever as regards to what to release? There's only 4 fucking studio albums - re-release them with or without bonus tracks (clue, only existing RT solo fans will even be interested, so re-releasing without bonus tracks will result in major flop)... no ones wants a fucking compilation! It would also be logiical to release the new solo album first along with a tour before re-releasing old material - but this doesn't seems to concern QPL etc.
We'd better hope they don't release a Live At The Rainbow DVD in 2013, that could mean we'll miss out on a Roger Taylor compilation CD! Oh my fucking god!

Who gives a damn? We all want Rainbow.

Yes, which is exactly why the Roger albums are getting an earlier release... And once his greatest hits bombs, QP have a new excuse not to release the Rainbow Show.
After all, it's only the hardcore fans who are interested in these niche products, while another re-release of Wembley is a guaranteed seller.
Thanks for the information GT! A Roger box set could be awesome...I assume it will collect the four solo discs so far...maybe a 5th disc for bonus/live tracks? Even if it was just the B-Sides/single mixes it would be cool...hopefully an actual outtake or two.
But hopefully it won't push back the solo album too much.
I doubt this will have anything to do with the Rainbow's dates or what not...I bet Rainbow goes first anyways and then a month - six weeks later a Roger product would be most welcome!

Of course not. That's something you're doing all by yourself.
