Brian also plays slide on Still Burnin'

Brian also plays a killer bass solo on Eiti Leda, along with Charly Garcia and David Lebon.

The Invisible Man - Guitar Solo (See Attachment)
How on earth did you get the guitar solo isolated like that? There are no stems or multitrack for The Invisible Man that I know of, and I don't see how you could do it using the 5.1 version or using any software, as it's so clean. Would be very interested to know.
I'd say it's from the 5.1
There's a bit more of the solo after the vocal comes in, but that's where this file cuts out. That's my first clue, because the channel it's ripped from should become the lead vocal at that point.

Here´s a clip of Malmsteen playing to achieve a "similar" effect.

Ah man, that's fantastic ! I have to learn how to play that.
This is exactelly what Brian is doing using a different technique. Creatig harmonies. A great example for me is his Wembley solo. It´s perfect and the last 3 minutes are pure genius.

Yup, probably my favourite Brian May moment of them all.
To be able to think of this and to incorporate it on stage -LIVE- is a milestone in electric guitar. Brian is a genius, and sometimes you need to be an electric guitarplayer to fully understand his genius and what he´s achieving with the sound. That´s why guys like Malmsteen, Satch and Vai all respect Brian. Because they know. They know the amount of thinking that went on until Brian was able to present and play this new technique live. They know the balls it takes to do so, in front of an audience.
Very well said.
Here is Brian at the Olympics 2012. He was superb! Great sound, tone, full control of the whamy bar vibrato with wonderfull bends, and perfect timing. All this "alone" in front of the world. It doesn´t get any better than this:

This clip just goes to show how respected he is. Just think of all the legends they had to pick from - Gilmour, Page, Beck, Clapton, Blackmore, Townshend, Knopfler, Slash (he was born in the UK), Keith Richards - and they went with Brian.

Yeah but that doesn't mean anything. They also chose the Spice Girls instead of, say, Julian Bream.

Well, he's talking about respect. They certainly respect him if he was their choice, among a lot of well known players.

Nah, Brian used the slide on a few other songs:
Drowse
I Go Crazy
Radio Ga Ga
There may be more than that, but that's all I can think of right now.
Keep Passing the Open Windows
The siren-type delays on Now I'm Here (octaved up too)
I'm Going Slightly Mad
Las Palabras de Amor
are a few more.

I wasn't sure whether to put Now I'm Here or not, as I thought those sounds might have been achieved by speeding up the tape, as Brian was using a fair amount of tape-manipulation around that time.
Completely forgot about IGSM. Good shout.
And good calls on KPTOW and LPDA too. You know, I'd never really consciously thought about the slide on those two, but I'd always heard it, if you know what I mean.
There are bits of Mother Love that sound like slide, but I guess that's just the strange sound of the Parker Fly.
Any more for any more?

I always tought the sounds on now i'm here were produced by scratching the strings with the sixpence

Would be a very tough one to create using the sixpence imo. If you have the facility, drop it down an octave and have a listen?

Bingo. He just slides into the note and bends it. And then they sped up the tape to double time - which brings it up an octave.

In addition to then Malmsteen clip, here's Phil Keaggy taking delay another step further - using an EBow.

It's far more simple to scratch the first string at said point and play the note. Really, try it. It's faster and the effect is practically the same. I don't see the point in speeding up the tape to achieve something that you can easily do with a sixpence.

Please upload an MP3 or YouTube video piece demonstrating your trick.
